Minh's Vietnamese

You'd Miss It, Unless You Knew It Was There. Minh's did not disappoint. I used to live in Springvale South and had yet to find a Bahn Mi that felt like "home". I had the chicken Bahn Mi with the lot. Loved the authentic Vietnamese fillings with the pickled carrots, daikon, cabbage, coriander, cucumber and chilli. Also came with a home made chilli oil paste and sauces. I will definitely be back! This may very well be my new favourite Bahn Mi joint in the area.

Tried my first Vietnamese coleslaw with pork. Amazing! Tender meat and good serving size. Place is small, most people come here for take away banh mi. Long queues during lunch time. Edit: i missed to add that this place doesnt skimp on the young mango in the coleslaw, while some places give very little or none at all.

Unfortunately its just another bahn mi place, nothing special about it here. The bread isn't tradition bread for a bahn mi. The sauces aren't right and the chilli really doesn't have any impact. The chicken dims sims have little flavour and have more cabbage than chicken. The rice paper rolls are tiny, filled with mostly noodles and really lacking meant and herbs. Service is also slow and they only accept cash.

There was a crispy pork special banh mi when we went there, which we got of course. Very well done, very crunchy with the fat rendered down. Beautifully flaky baguette. We also appreciated the extra detail of the herbs being cut up into small pieces so you didn't wind up pulling out a whole stalk of coriander in your first bite. No pate, but there was enough sauce to make it flavourful.
