Gochi Japanese Fusion Tapas

It's eh. Good service but the food is nothing out of the world. The pizzas were kind of unique (the crust was real crispy) but I would rather just pay half the price for quadruple the pizza. The clay pot rice was oily and missing the exquisite burnt bits at the very bottom. If you have money to spend come here for expensive food but make sure you eat beforehand cause you won't be full coming out.

One kind of Japanese fusion restaurant to try something new... Good food comes with great taste. Unfortunately the tea is not free here, like others...$2/ cup of hot tea 😂 beside that's staying for waiting line is pretty too long, very much rush and crowded. Have to reserve table via Yelp apps that's pretty convenient. Shop around and get updated via yelp. Good customer service and has indoor and outdoor sitting arrangements... Overall must visit and eat restaurant... I like the authentic sitting style of Japanese eating style..which you can see here in this restaurant....

Came here on a Saturday night with a reservation for a date and this was a super cool unique experience! We got tatami seats which made it that much more fun of an experience. Good: The service here is lightning fast! We'd place an order online, and get it like 5 minutes later - it's incredible. I really liked the unagi kaarage - it was so much flavor in one bite! Surprisingly filling. I also liked the hamachi a ton and the fish was so fresh. Definitely recommend. Finally I really liked the pizzas here, I've never had pizza that was super asian before, so was a unique taste. Bad: The portion sizes are smaller for the price, but if you're prepared to spend, it's perfect. I thought that the crispy claypot with pork didn't have that much flavor really and I think that it's just like a result of the other dishes having so so much flavor that this didn't stand out as much even though it was still good! The croquettes weren't that stellar either, though the curry taste was pretty unique. -------- Overall, really enjoyed the experience and I think that I'd come again!

So many different dishes to try! Tonight we had the pork and miso pizza. Great flavors, but best to share as it can get a bit rich if you try and eat it all alone. The seaweed and greens salad as well as the daikon salad reminded me of Japan, and were both refreshing flavorful. The shrimp tempura was a miss - not delicate at all, with just too much breading. Grilled fish collars are a winner, if a bit pricey, but I can't wait to get the grilled beef tongue next time! The clay pot rice dishes looked delicious too. Attentive, professional staff. Excellent Japanese fusion tapas concept. Draws ideas and ingredients from Chinese, Korean, and worldwide cuisine to create a mix of inventive Japanese dishes. We love getting the Mentaiko Pizza, several of the Clay Pots, and some other tapas. Salad was also fresh and delicious. Service was super prompt.

Gochi is one of those restaurants that would have you come with big expectations but leave with an unfulfilled appetite. I've been to the Cupertino one multiple times but this is the first time I've been to the mountain view one. It's not a big restaurant and not as crowded as the Cupertino one used to be pre-covid. The online menu is annoying but that's not the fault of this particular restaurant so I didn't take off any stars for this. However food is consistently boring just like the Cupertino branch. It has many unique items that you would think would be awesome but once you taste it just so-so. I can't describe why I feel this way but somehow nothing surprised my taste buds whenever I ate at Gochi. It's almost like it's trying too hard with creativity but somehow the chefs can't execute the flavors right.
