I always go to the GEN at Hostetter in San Jose, but hearing the mixed reviews I decided to come here with my friend for her birthday in November. The place is really amazing with decoration and blue lighting in the seat areas. When you walk in, the staff takes our temperature before being seated. The server was awesome and checked on us every few minutes. The food is amazing and can never go wrong with the brisket. If I went to GEN next time, it would be this one!

Finally was able to get Gen after 8 months of shelter in place. It's been too long. Much too long. I believe Gen has two take-out options: raw or cooked. We happened to get the raw option, and it was delicious! I know you can probably get the same meat from H Mart or Ranch 99 for cheaper, but we were happy with the convenience and a little desperate after 8 months of no kbbq :(

I celebrated my nomination today in this great restaurant. Well we passed a great evening and the venue was definitely one of the reasons for that fruitful gathering. The team contributed in a very nice way, the cooking was delicious and my guests were so thrilled. We shall definitely visit again for more events. Thank you very much.

I always love coming here but its seems like our servers are overwhelmed. They forget what we've ordered. I don't blame them if they are understaffed. I love being able to eat outside but I also felt like inside was good with ventilation and spacing. All the meats are cooked but had to wait 30mins for japchae. Fun place to have fun or just have zoom meeting at lunch lol

This place is amazing. LA galbi and all you can eat BBQ are very good. I love all BBQ menu and side dishes. Yogurt Soju was good too. They started inside dinning today and we were lucky.

Gen is DEFINITELY the hands down best bang for your buck when it comes to Korean bbq. High quality meats, great environment, helpful and attentive staff, all for $25. You really can't beat it. I suggest the galbi, bulgogi, Hawaiian steak and the brisket. Man...just talking about it makes me want to go back right now 😋 haha. But really tho, hit this place up. It's 🔥🔥🔥 for sure

ZERO STAR, DO NOT GO, THE WOREST GEN BBQ I HAVE EXPERIENCED. Apparently they are not ready. I have been to many other Gen restaurants around California, and this one has the slowest service and least amount of food. The meat is not fresh, and the amount is not even enough for two little girls. They also don’t have time to change the grill, so we ended up scrape ourselves.

Best darn Korean food I ever had! Absolutely loved and enjoyed it! The price was decent too! Great concept of cooking up your little own all your can eat selection of food, exactly as you like it, as and when u need it. Well within two hours that is! Definitely worth it and highly recommend it.
