Marina Boardwalk Cafe

Got to the cafe, and sat for 20 - 25 minutes waiting to be served and have the table cleared from the previous diners. While we waited we saw a table of 6-7 arrive(seem to be regulars), have their table cleared before us and were served before us. Whilst watching this unfold multiple waitresses walked past us. We had to go inside to the counter to fetch ourselves some menus and someone to clear the table. When we finally got to order coffee, the coffee didn’t manage to arrive till after our food arrived and after we had eaten it. We questioned where the coffees were, to learn that the order wasn’t even placed. Only thing that went for this cafe was that the food tasted alright. The clear lack of competition for the area has created a sub par standard for customer service. If you are understaffed for the amount of seating you have, maybe table service shouldn’t be offered.

Some comments are relevant, as getting the staff right can be challenging in any business. But food handling skills are paramount, and a maggot in your hamburger is intolerable. Undercooked eggs (runny white) is also rather unpalatable. We didn't make a scene as we had a group of 8, and didn't want the others to feel uncomfortable. We are sorry the experience was as bad as that, as the location is favourable.
