Fish N Bait

Had lunch here. Situated in BKC, it is ideally placed for office lunches or evening drinks. The night crowd here is also surprisingly high. They offer good range of fresh water and marine fishes as part of their cuisine. While the food was not marvellous, the dishes I tried were good and most of my friends found it very pleasing. Their service is great and they explain the dishes if you enquire. They offer corporate discounts to most of the companies in BKC. Ask for it before billing.

As the name suggests the place serves large variety of fish dishes which are very tasty and fresh. Also this place has a small section for the vegetarians which although not elaborate but serves tasty dishes. Location wise the hotel is spot on and as compared to its neighbouring joints is less crowded,however this place is costly.

I am a Pecetarian and am on a constant search of good Sea food dining places. Fish and Bait was a great discovery. The USP of this place is that it doesn’t limit itself to one particular type of cuisine. It serves sea food in various choices, Mediteranian, oriental,Continental, India coastal and Bengali! So you get so many options under one roof! The food is absolutely finger licking tasty, the fish is fresh and the service is very personalised. Ambience is OK.

Fish N Bait is a global cuisine, seafood speciality restaurant. It serves costal favorites from across the globe, it covers indian regional favorites like Malwani, Goan, Managlorean and Bengali cuisine along with global cuisine like Chinese, Thai, Mediterranean and European. A fair bit of chicken, mutton and vegetarian food is also available in the restaurant. They also offer a set lunch menu on weekdays, keeping the corporate crowd in mind ! WHAT I LIKED THE MOST !? COCKTAILS - COCO BEACH A cocktail made with malibu liquier and vodka muddled with apple, pineapple juice and vanilla ice cream. Refreshing ! Goes really well with spicy seafood ! SALADS - FRUTTI DI MARE Lettuce and bell peppers tossed with prawns, calamari and crabs in a cirtusy dressing. A perfect start for a scrumptious meal, Crunchy veggies and fresh seafood went really well together. APPETIZERS - DRY MANGO PRAWNS Prawns rubbed with dry mango powder, pan seared with white wine, served with cheddar cheese cubes. Sour and spicy prawns with a hint of cheesy flavour, super yummy ! SOHA PAN FISH Fish marinated with thai herbs, pan seared with black pepper sauce. Super spicy, with a punch of garlic and freshly ground pepper. Wow ! MASALA FRY RAWAS Rawas marinated with south indian spices, pan fried. Beautiful flavour of curry leaves, grated coconut and red chilli paste. Can't go wrong with this classic ! MAINS - TEQUILA HERB SCENTED LOBSTER Fresh lobster cooked with tequila and herbs. Served with polenta and veggies. Fantastic ! The lobster meat was tender, beautifully flavoured with mild herbs like rosemary, extremely delicious ! Even the presentation was spot on ! INDONESIAN CURRY Mixed seafood cooked in coconut curry with ganangal, kaffir lime and lemon grass. Comes along with steamed rice and sprout salad. Simple comforting curry, flavours were robust ! DESSERTS - OREO HAZELNUT MOUSSE CAKE Rich hazelnut and oreo buiscut based mousse cake. One could get a nice hazelnut flavour in the mousse, garnishing of oreo cookie added crunch and texture to the dessert ! WHAT'S MY TAKE !? Fish N Bait has a warm chic ambiance. The seafood used in their dishes was extremely fresh and it was cooked skillfully without diluting it's natural flavours. Even their food menu is extensive and diverse so one one gets to have their favourite seafood dishes in their preferred cuisine. Fish N Bait is surely a treat for all seafood lovers ! Try them out :)
