South Vortex at Marine lines is a pure veg place serving a huge variety of food along with sheeshas n I've heard good Cocktails. Sadly we couldn't try the cocktails as they don't have a weekday permit for serving alcohol. The Vortex south is located close to Marine Lines, it has beautifully lit interiors and two different dining sections, One section is for family dining and other is for sheesha. The service is pretty good and quick. It has a vast menu Indian, Italian, Mexican also they have Asian food as well. ◽ Vegetarian Combo Platter This platter had Tandoori Paneer, Corn Cheese Balls, Veg croquettes, Baby corn, and Manchurian. I just liked the Manchurian and Tandoori Paneer. Rating - 6/10 ◽Sally’s Inspiration This is paneer marinated in mint sauce and barbequed with a smoky flavour. The smoky flavour was dominating so couldn't taste the mint. Rating - 6/10 ◽Melting Bites Looks like galouti kabab, this one is made from Yam and Zucchini it was really melt in mouth and tastes good. Rating - 7/10 ◽ Vegetable Hakka Noodles. This one was my favorite dish here, it was perfectly cooked noodles with mild garlic flavour and lots of vegetables. Rating - 9/10 ◽Roasted Veggie Lasagne I was expecting a lot from this dish, it turned out to be a disappointment. The consistency of the sauce were very thick. The white was was average to taste and the green and red sauce were below average. I will suggest not to go for this dish. Rating - 4/10 ◽Paneer Lababdar Very unique tasting Cottage Cheese main course. It was perfectly spiced and good to taste. Rating - 9/10 ◽Butter Garlic Naan It was well prepared and cut into 3 portions and it is enough for one person. Rating - 7/10 They had a vast menu and only a couple of dessert options one was caramel custard which was good to taste and not so well presented and other was sizzling brownie. I just think they should improvise on their desserts.

Tried the food and sheesha at this place. The food tasted really good and was garnished very well. The service was prompt. However, I didn't like the ambience and seating at this place. The seating was comfortable but the alignment was not well thought. You don't get much privacy with the way the tables and seats were arranged. You might start a conversation with the person sitting on the next table or with the table right in front of you. The sound of the music was too loud. I particularly didn't like the sheesha service for a couple of reasons. 1. They take the top portion every time they have to change the coal which makes it very inconvenient. 2. The smoke and the quality of the sheesha was probably not that good because of which it wasn't producing enough smoke. Be vary that the rates of sheesha start from Rs. 1000 on Saturdays and Sundays and 750 on weekdays.
