Papa Johns Pizza

Another bad experience last weekend. Long wait and then got the wrong order. I like the food but this location has repeatedly disappointed me. I think Papa John’s should take a hard look at adding another franchise in the area. This place is maybe 200 square feet with 15 employees constantly running into each other. It seems to me that what PJ’s sells in Muncie is limited not by demand but by this tiny location’s ability to make pizzas fast enough.

Unfortunately, I think I caught them on a bad night. I wanted to try the new stuffed crust pizza, and it was average at best. The website told me 45-55 minutes, but it was closer to 80-90 minutes, and I observed that no one was getting their food in the amount of time time they were told. Additionally, there were so many people waiting for their food that some people decided to wait outside in the cold presumably due to social distancing concerns.

Tried to call in an order but I was put immediately on hold. The first time I accepted it fine, assumed they were busy, but after six minutes I grew wary. I hung up and tried to call back to inquire how busy they were and what sort of wait I might expect, but the person who answered the phone put me right back on hold in the middle of me asking a question. As such I hung up, waited one minute, then called back again. I purposely said nothing this time when they picked up, just to see if they even waited for a reply at all when they asked 'Can I put you on hold?' They didn't. I didn't say a word, and they stuck me on hold. I left the call on speaker and started driving there, thinking to just set an order along the way, but I was on hold for ten minutes when they picked up, thus almost there. I went ahead and tried to order something for pickup, but they said it would take half an hour. Even ignoring the first call, that's over 40 minutes for PICK UP. I would have just tossed this whole thing aside as an annoyance and moved on, but when I simply said 'never mind, then' the worker hung up on me without a word. I'm not sure what the norm is, if people expect this sort of wait here, but no matter if you think the pizza is 'worth the wait' I suggest passing along that the staff shouldn't toss customers on hold or hang up on them, no matter how busy they are.
