Camino Real

The Camino Real location at Memorial and Thompson Lane in Murfreesboro is our favorite for a quick lunch. The food there is delicious and the staff really know how to turn the lunch time tables. People having just a short amount of time for lunch seem to flock there knowing they can be in and out, well fed, ready to go back to work.

This was our first time eating at this location. Where to start? It was all amazing, so here goes. We were greeted with warm smiles and menus, got seated at an amazing booth, large and comfy for us 3. Started with queso and chips and salsa, yummy to all. Then came the food, I had the Chili Colorado and an a la Carte taco. It was amazing! Spiced to perfection and the beans and rice so authentic. My husband had the chimichanga and our grand daughter had the fajita bowl. We also ordered guacamole,and it was fabulous also. The beautifully painted murals and vibrant colors gave off the vibe of old town Mexico for me! But the best part was our server! Angel, he was so on point, we not once had to ask for more drinks, he had new ones right when it was almost empty glasses. Warm fresh chips and salsa were also brought and filled without asking either. That is the sign of an excellent waiter! You should not have to ask for refills or top offs, he was on it all night! The place was packed from the time we arrived at 5pm on Wed, and even more packed when we left. But the manager and the attentive wait staff, along with the fast and accurately skilled bus boys cleaning the tables at lighting speed, It all runs like a well oiled machine! What a great find for us, as we have been looking for a Mexican restaurant to put on our bi weekly food destinations, as we tend to dine out alot due to our schedules. So I am claiming Camino Real Mexican restaurant in Murfreesboro as our top pick in our book of FAVORITE places to eat in the Boro! This was my first visit to this fine Mexican restaurant and the food was amazing. I had the cheesy steak tacos with rice and a taco salad. I was impressed with how fast and how fresh the food was. I recommend anyone try this place for great Mexican food. (Edit to my initial review) tonight 10/15/21 I went to order some takeout since the restaurant was really busy, but they got it wrong this time and handed my order to another gentleman who left with the order. He returned a few minutes later saying it wasn't his order and gave it back, the lady went back to the kitchen came right back with the same order and tried to give it to me after someone else left with it especially in these times of covid-19 totally not acceptable. I just asked for my money back since I already wasted time waiting and wasn't willing to wait for them to remake the order and I wasn't offered a soda or chips while waiting for their mistakes.

We have never actually eaten inside at this particular location but for the past 5 years we have consistently ordered take-out 1-2 times a week. They have something to suit the varied tastes of everyone in our family plus there is one dish that stands out above the rest and is a crowd pleaser. . . Their ceviche is super fresh and indescribably delicious!!!!

We eat here at least 3 times a month, it has been an excellent experience every time. My favorite is the shrimp tacos and white cheese/chips. Pollo con queso is also very delicious. Service is also top notch. Make sure you order your appetizers early because the food comes out fast. We like sitting outside on the patio.
