Sir Pizza

The food was good as it always is. The service was not. We ordered a salad to share and a large pizza. Our pizza came out well before our salad. I asked the server where the salad was and she informed me she was busy and she was the only server working. There were only three tables seated at the time she said she was busy and all three tables had received their food and drinks already. We ate almost half our pizza when the salad was brought out. It was not the best experience. I will start going to a different location in hopes of a nicer server.

After years of doing business with one of my favorite pizza places in my hometown, I am sadden to have to write this review. With no problems of having pizzas delivered to our home for years, we were just told that that the Memorial Blvd location no longer delivers to our neighborhood as they only deliver to a 5 mile radius (we are in a 6 mile radius mind you). I kept wondering why their parking lot was seemingly getting emptier over the years…now I know why. The focus on customer service has dropped tremendously especially with the original hometown folks. I will start carrying my business over business with a more reliable business that is there for me and my family when I need them.

How has this place been in business for so long? I'm one to give a place the benefit of the doubt but this place was exceptionally bad. The food was cheap, flavorless and terrible. Thin crust pizza with the most generic no taste toppings. I don't like giving negative reviews because I feel people these days use them to bully businesses into whatever it is that they want or just to grandstand. But this was seriously one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. You'd do better buying a frozen pizza at the store.

This place is always packed so we decided to try it out. Bad decision. Ordered the lasagna. It was the smallest piece of lasagna I have ever seen. Not to mention the price of it was $9.69 with 2 pieces of soggy garlic bread. This is in NO way acceptable. It was pathetic. If you want lasagna that barely fits in a very large container, go to Carrabba’s. Do NOT waste your time here.

I have lived in Murfreesboro about 3 years and heard constantly how good Sir Pizza is. I recently decided to try it and placed an online order for pick up. I was not impressed. There was a lot of confusion about where the order was when I arrived. Finally getting the pizza and getting home, I was unimpressed. The crust was bland and maybe not entirely cooked. The top of the pizza was definitely overcooked and it seemed as though they loaded it with toppings, perhaps in an effort to overcome the blandness of the crust? To me there are far better and tastier options for pizza in Murfreesboro.

This place doesn't pretend to be anything it's not. If I'm being honest, there's only one type of pizza I enjoy here and it's good enough for 5 stars. The Garden Pizza, pictured below. Absolutely love it and I can't find any other pizza joint that comes close. Sir Pizza is a staple here in the Boro. They've been around since 1966. The atmosphere is a laid back dungeons and dragons theme with hand painted murals of knights, castles and dragons. The pizza buffet is a good bargain. Beer is a little pricey but whatever. Worth checking out at least twice.
