Subculture Urban Cuisine And Cafe

I've heard great things about Subculture for years and now I wish I had come here sooner. AMAZING service and equally excellent food. We were treated like old friends as soon as we walked in the door. The "hot" spice level on the hot chicken tacos was perfect - great intense heat balanced with tons of flavor. Loved the sesame slaw and aioli toppings. Fries, empanadas, and the cheese burger were also fantastic. I loved it all! Thanks again for an amazing lunch.

The steak and egg breakfast burrito is possibly the best I’ve ever had and I’ve eaten a LOT of breakfast burritos 😆. I have gotten it twice so far, and it was spectacular both times. I add cheese and avocado which makes it almost a $17 burrito, and every time I pay for it I think that perhaps I should not spend that much on a burrito, then I eat it, and i remember it’s completely worth it. The steak is perfectly cooked, the ingredients are fresh, the portion is generous. I look forward to trying other things here as soon as I can stop eating this burrito.

Subculture has quickly become my favorite, go-to restaurant in Nashville. Everything is reliably delicious, not too heavy or expensive, and the owner is awesome. :) My go-to is the Butternut Salad or the butternut tacos… but if I’m feeling wild the pimento cheese empanada is life changing. And I’m not even a huge coffee person, but the coffee is top-notch! Honestly if I keep writing this review I’m just going to end up listing everything on the menu that I’ve had, so just go. Try it. Try literally anything. You can’t go wrong.

I started with a vanilla latte that was DELICIOUS! Then I had the hot chicken tacos which were HEAVENLY! I chose the spiciest option and I’m glad I did! The spicy chicken paired perfectly with the aioli making these the most DELECTABLE tacos I’ve ever had! I can’t wait to go back and try more items!

I finally made the trip to Subculture for lunch. I picked the perfect butter cold day to warm up with hot chicken ramen. Heat level, medium is just right - enough spice to feel the burn without ruining my day. The depth of flavor of the broth was perfect & the addition of hot chicken was the ideal flavor note to give the dish a unique twist.

This restaurant is one of my favorite places in Nashville, the food is 10/10 and I have tried almost everything on the menu. This time I got a Churrasco with chicken. It’s rich and flavorful but a little messy (which I don’t mind because I love the chimichurri). The hot chicken sandwich is so good an so spicy, has a lot of flavor and is very moist, there’s nothing I would change. Subculture has the best hot chicken in town, period!

We were pleasantly surprised with our experience here. The food was DELICIOUS - we got the grilled chicken salad, a cubano sandwich, the quinoa salad, beef empanadas, pork ramen, and fries. All of it was worth trying! It's a small spot but they've got indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is super friendly and the food came out so quick! We will definitely be back here.

Updated August 2021 This is still a fantastic local restaurant with delicious hot chicken served many different ways. You will not be disappointed in the hot chicken tacos which comes three to an order and are very filling! Went there for Nashville Hot Chicken week and had their terrific hot chicken sandwich. If that's an indication of how awesome the rest of their menu will be, I will definitely come back! The staff were also super friendly and helpful. the only downside about this restaurant is that it small so either get there early or you may have to be prepared to share a table or wait (and it's worth the wait).

Subculture can be labeled as "diamond in the rough." I love this little spot. It has an out door patio, which is a plus. The couple, who owns this restaurant, has the most intriguing love story. Christina works in the front. She's very helpful and welcoming. Pablo is the head chef. He always checks on how you enjoy your food, and is open to your suggestion for improvement. I like their hot fried chicken sandwich. The dough is homemade and the chili powder is the real deal. I dare to get medium. So spicy good! Their churassco is fantastic. The egg is running, and beef is moist. You have to try it! They close on Sunday.
