Ihop

We went to this location for the 2nd time and I was very disappointed. First if all: 1. Ceiling tiles are so old and moldy they seriously need to update this location. 2. We had already waited a while and we were starving, so we bit the bullet and ate here. 3. Our server was amazing, which made everything else seem irrelevant. 4. As you can see by the picture, my son has special needs so he orders the same salad every time and he usually eats every last piece. Not this time! He ate all the toppings and chicken but left the entire salad. It looked so old he wouldn’t eat it. For him this is rare because he eats everything. 5. While waiting for our meals there was one waitress that was serving a coke to her table and dropped coke on the floor. She never bothered to clean it up and another waitress slipped on it but literally held on to the wall to keep herself from falling. One of her tables a customer told her she needed to clean up the spilled coke. 6. The same waitress while waiting for food to be taken out to her table, began throwing some type of food into someone’s mouth like a game. She also had a mouth full of food while she cleaned up the spilled coke. 7. Overall, I don’t think we’ll be back until things change at this location.

My experience started great today. Our server greeted us, friendly and cordial. She brought us our beverages and we ordered our food. The food was good, no complaints. However, the service experience went downhill from there. The server was tight up at the register and didn't follow up. I requested a tea refill from another server, but was brought the tea. I asked for it to be replaced again from the other server, but she said they ran out of both sweet and unsweetened tea. Mind you, tea at IHOP is now $3.50! Our server was supposed to bring us our pancakes, but they were delayed and instead of 3 as mentioned in the menu, she brought 2. I brought it up and she delivered the 3rd one. She walked away, but forgot the syrup. My wife had to go to the kitchen and request the syrup. By then our pancakes were cold. This whole mess could have been avoided if they would just let the servers be just that. Darn shame!

My husband and I arrived in New Braunfels, TX after 10 pm on 3/8/22. Our hotel was next to this restaurant so we went there to eat a late dinner. We waited about 10 minutes to be seated because I'm guessing he was the host, was cashing out another customer. We were seated and waited 20 minutes for a server to come to our table. When she finally came to our table, she said "Oh I didn't know you were here, sorry" even though she was just at the table right behind us. She took our drink order and we waited another 15 minutes to get our drinks. We placed our food order and she kept having us repeat our order. Another person brought us our food 30 minutes later. The food was cold and missing items. Our server never came back to check on us so that we could get the order corrected. She finally brought the check after we had been done eating for 20 minutes. We told her that there were items missing that she had charged us for but we didn't want to wait another 20 minutes for her to update the check. To pay the cashier/cook/host took another 10 minutes. I understand that we were there after 10 pm and they have a limited staff, but this was ridiculous! Also, most of the tables had not been bussed from earlier. Everywhere you looked you saw dirty dishes, the floors were nasty, the ceiling had huge clumps of dust on it, I don't know how this place passes inspection! STAY AWAY from this location!!

If you want to eat here be prepared to hear another employee yell across the restaurantat the other employees the entire time you are trying to enjoy your meal then go here. This was the worst experience at a restaurant that I have ever seen. So unprofessional!!! I felt like I was on that show "What would you do". Well what I almost did was go off on her and tell her to shut up so we can enjoy our meal and hear each other talk, that is the nice version. Debra was so loud and obnoxious and if I worked there I would have walked out. Our waitresses was awesome and unfortunately i don't remember her name because the only thing you could focus on was Debra yelling. I will probably never return here. If I do I will call ahead of time to make sure she isn't there. If I want to hear yelling while I eat, I would go to an elementary school lunch. Just horrible how she was treating the other staff. She should be ashamed of herself because she was clearly old enough to not act like that.
