The Piano Man Jazz Club

The Piano Man Jazz Club is a squeezed place in Safdarjung and I would definitely not recommend couples who want to spend intimate dinner there. Though the name suggests it’s a club but it’s not the conventional club that you are looking for nor it suffices to a proper restaurant. It’s most likely between a pub and a restaurant. Having said that, the size of the place cannot fool you the enormity of food that it has to offer. I had the luxury of spending a beautiful dinner night here with a band that is unknown to me and it was up to my expectations. Since it was my first visit here I was initially skeptical and to my surprises it didn’t fail to disappoint me. I have to talk about the most amazing dining experience I had here which is the food. It was a surreal experience for me. I am deeply obliged to thank the chef’s whose hands are no less than that of the artisans. Now that I’ve addressed the good snippets of this place I am somewhat critical of few things where I think it missed out a star from my end. Firstly, I had a prior Zomato Gold booking and despite that I had to pay an additional fee for the live show which I was not aware of nor it was mentioned in their bookings on Zomato. It was an odd experience and I felt if they would’ve notified me earlier it would’ve been great. Second, despite having a table booking for two I was shocked to see that I was given a tiny table where we barely could keep things. So, I definitely think prior booking does not work and it’s always advisable to call them earlier. Third, the server was annoyingly sloppy while asking for drinks and refills. I understand the wait for the food but drinks was something that you do not want to wait for 10 minutes or more. So, understaffed might be an issue here. Fourth, they lacked a proper bar menu and most of the drinks that you want to order aren’t available. They don’t have great beer options so make sure you get buzzed before going in there. And the final problem is their exorbitant prices. If you are planning for a dinner experience with drinks make sure you have more than 7k with you. The service charge and alcohol service charge with GST is going to drill heavily on your pocket. I hope to visit here again.

If you want to experience the old school pub vibe with Live music, thisbis your place. We went on a dinner date and were charged ₹500/- per person as ticket for the band that was playing that night. We had 3 drinks, 4 food items and that costed us ₹6000/- It is a lill on the pricey side I must say, the LIVE band was really good and you are basically paying that much for the vibe. The safdurjung one has a limited seating option so make sure if you are planning a dinner date, arrive 10 mins prior to your reservation. And grab a seat and don't let it go😂 The management can kick you out if you are only there having dinner and havent paid for the LIVE band tickets.
