I already enjoy Indian food, but Sherkaan brings it to a whole new level! Their menu is creative, with a mix of traditional dishes, and everything that we had was done very well. Butter chicken with garlic naan is my usual go-to, and Sherkaan’s is my new favorite! The Hakka noodles and ribs were fantastic as well. My boyfriend enjoyed his cocktail, and next time we’re totally getting the one with the tiger on top! Sherkaan is definitely my new favorite spot for Indian food.

I'd say it's definitely worth a visit for it's ambience and drinks. Don't expect the food to blow away your mind. The service was pretty good, we went on a relatively less crowded day. Lovely wall art and cocktails. They could definitely add a little bit of more flavor to the food. Vada pav and okra fries were good but biryani might be slightly below average. Would come here again for the drinks if I'm ever in town.

Good ambience and service. Place is neat and less crowded. Is it authentic Indian food? Definitely not. Never have I ever paid extra for sambar to eat Dosa at any Indian restaurant.

Me and family went to this place excited for having Indian food, and it proved to be a total disappointment. We ordered masala dosa, seek kabab and butter chicken. Definitely the chef does not know a thing about Indian cooking. It was a complete mess. Would not go back neither suggest anyone to waste their money. Overall, Ambiance 10/10, Customer Service 8/10, Food 1/10.

It is not an authentic Indian food restaurant. Poor quality and sometimes, they are serving rotten meat. Had the chicken tikka, but the meat smelled rotten, undercooked and tasted stale. Also the chicken wasn't marinated properly as can be seen from the photos. The foul smell made my friend feel sick and get medicated. Had to throw away the food. Last time the Chicken Tikka was good. Panipoori chaat was good. Chicken naan didn't taste as it should be. Had the worst Biryani of my life. They put vegetables in biriyani and the spices were not what is generally found in Dum Biryani. The texture of the Sambar is not like the original Indian sambar. I found stale potatoes in it. The Batura is not at all near the Indian batura but is good. Unfortunately, they are extremely greasy and the oil used for frying them seemed old. Masala dosa had some portions with stale potato. The packaging of the items for delivery was also not done properly, the Sambar from the container was tilted and as a result, leaked into the other boxes. Since the food made both of us feel sick, we will not be ordering from here again.

I ate here twice while in town for Yale graduation. The Palak Paneer was amazing! That is actually what brought me back the second time. I highly recommend trying that, which I think paired nicely with the green chile stuffed naam (if you like spicy). I also had the Vada Pav Sliders. I was not a fan of these, but others who tried them seemed to really enjoy them. I'm guessing that I was an exception in that case. The service I had was decent, but not exceptional. I was seated at the bar both times, and was not engaged much by the bartenders. Granted, the first night, the barback and I chatted a bit, but the gentleman who took my order seemed to barely acknowledge me. The second night, the service from the bartender was much better, and she was quite engaging, though it took a bit for that to occur. I'll chalk it up to having had a super busy weekend with all that was going on in relation to the graduations from Yale. All in all, I would eat here again, if for no other reason than the palak paneer, because it was that delicious! The staff seemed friendly as well. Again, I assume that the graduation took a lot out of the locals that weekend, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt on the service spectrum.

At the edge of Yale campus, this spot had flavorful dishes and beautiful decor (loved the unique bar and original wall paintings). Would definitely go there again. Butter chicken, chickpea cauliflower, and a tasty cucumber salad all pictured here. Yummm!
