One of the best barbecue places in Connecticut Great atmosphere and great food, north Carolina style! Good barbecue is hard to find around here, I prefer Texas & Memphis style myself but this place is still great, The outdoor area is fantastic, Plenty of seating and fire pits. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for some good barbecue in the New Haven area

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 I’ll give this place 3 1/2 stars. I did not eat in, therefore I will be speaking of the take out experience and food on that basis. I ordered through Uber eats. So… The FOOD: It was “okay”. I waited a few days before writing the review because I was torn. Like, the food was good but not great. I wanted to be great, I feel like it has the ability to be great. The meat was flavorful but not smoked to perfection. Not the worst I’ve had but not the best. The Mac & cheese was surprisingly good and exceeded my expectations. The cornbread had a nice taste also. 👀 Here is the kicker… All 3 items came together in my dish. Together it was very dry. The cornbread wasn’t fresh and I could tell but mixed the with Mac wasn’t bad at all. The meat was cold for whatever reason. A fork full of all three items (cornbread, Mac & Cheese, beef brisket) should have been heaven and it was just “okay”. I’m going to try them one more time because I know they can do better. Care Note: the beans are SPICY. I don’t like spicy and it was right above my thresh hold. I could have pressed on but no thanks. The take out bag had grease stains, that could be a bad thing for cloth seats. The takeout person wasn’t friendly…

Very good BBQ joint. Excellent one for the Northeast. Situated in a nice setting, a modern industrial park like, large parking lot, lots of room for outdoor seating. Most of BBQ "things" are covered well, i.e. nice and tender brisket, falling off the bone ribs, smokey beans, tangy collar greens and cheesy mac. Decent beer list to accompany the protein. We like almost everything this place could crank out, with one little gripe that its ribs was a tad on the dry side. A self service joint. Good for a large crowd. Nice and spacious seating area.

Absolutely terrible. I ordered a 6pc wings with blue cheese on the side, and a pulled pork sandwich - add cole slaw. The wings were absolutely hammered and drier than than a paper towel. They definitely forgot about them in the fryer, or just have no idea how to cook a wing. Blue cheese was missing. Pulled pork sandwich was bland as hell and the kitchen also neglected to put cole slaw on it. Put some salt on your pork, don't thoroughly mess up orders, and don't bother selling food 20 minutes before close if your folks in the back are too busy closing up to do your menu justice. The lady on the phone was nice.

This place was OK when it first opened. They’ve gained popularity and subsequently, the quality has plummeted. Food is served COLD. Like seriously everything on my plate was under room temperature, this is a BBQ spot! The norm is hot, juicy delicious bbq food. But no, I got brisket that was probably cooked the day before and wasn’t even hot. My wife got the Turkey breast and it was dryer than desert sand. Totally gross. Not to mention cornbread is given cold. This place does not deserve 4+ rating. Fries are relatable to the fries found on the bottom of a fast food bag. I’d rather drive an hour and get REAL BBQ at Nobels in Mystic. Employees are biased (girl in front of me got a considerable larger portion of brisket than I did.
