Hunan house is absolutely delicious, the best place I’ve found (I’ve tried pretty much every Chinese restaurant in Greater New Haven area). Very reasonable prices, even during the pandemic when all costs of restaurant supplies have tripled! As a Chinese-American, this is the best, most authentic Hunan cuisine in the area, without a doubt.

Yesterday, my experience at this restaurant was awesome. I'm not sure what the reviewers are saying about not being fresh. The food was fresh and tasty to me (Great Flavor). If you're looking for Authentic Chinese food you have to give this place a shot. In my experience you don't come to these kind of restaurants for American take-out. Place's like this shine with their authentic flavor.

My sister and I went here for the first time and it was delicious. We will definitely be back

I got the steamed soup dumplings and shu mai to go. It says on the menu that they were both non frozen, handmade dim sum, but I doubt it. The wrapper of the soup dumpling was thick, and there was only a tiny amount of meat inside. The shumai was small and it only had sticky rice in it but no shrimp or pork as what its name suggested. A little disappointed.

I just ate there for the first time and was quite pleased. We particularly liked the steamed vegetable dumplings, sauteed green beans with eggplant, and Peking duck. The hot and sour soup was indeed hot - too spicy for our taste. Servings were large - the amount they packed for us at the end will feed us at home for a good while. Service was good.

I had a really good memory of this restaurant from several years ago, but today was a little disappointed. Still better than an average take out place. Heard from local people later that the owner has changed. No wonder ...

Good Chinese food but not the best in the area. I had the General Taos chicken one time and the sesame chicken another. Tasted fine but not exactly what I expected. The previous owner did much better with the quality. I continue to order there because it's a close walk from work.
