everything was extremely good and the ambiance was excellent. Came here for my birthday and the service was quick and nice. The food was cooked perfectly and the appetizers were the main stairs. Especially the disguised escargots. The deserts were very nice as well. Perfect place for special occasion or a nice treat.

I really enjoy the food and drink from Le Coucou. They have the best young chicken I ever had in my life. The lobster salad is great. The wine is also a good choice. Thank you for giving me a wonderful time for my birthday

Le Coucou epitomizes true French charm, not only not only in its exquisite decor, but also its “languid” pace of service… Canette Sainte-Baume - This is pretty much a duck cooked every way possible: duck liver, roasted duck breast, and duck confit. Love the way they use figs. Vol-au-vent “Coucou” - My favorite one! Featuring veal sweetbreads and lobster encased in flaky puff pastry, with vermouth and white wine tarragon cream. Homard Au Poivre - Lobster is always a never-go-wrong choice yet nothing special. Firm and resilient bite with creamy and rich sauce.

Everything was fantastic. The tuna starter and the beef main course were particular standouts and will live long in the memory. The wine recommended paired perfectly with the food we chose. Simply put one of the best meals I've eaten this year

On our anniversary, we decided to celebrate at the restaurant of our choice. As soon as we arrived, the staff warmly greeted us, ensuring that our special day would be nothing short of exceptional. The portion sizes may have been modest, but the quality of the food surpassed our expectations, leaving us completely satisfied. Not only was the cuisine delicious, but the ambiance of the restaurant was truly enchanting, boasting a beautiful setting that captivated our senses. The staff's meticulous attention to detail further enhanced our experience, making us feel like cherished guests throughout the evening. Without a doubt, our time spent at the restaurant was absolutely delightful.

Awesome dinner tonight with two friends on 11/15/2023. Only one Michelin star but deserves at least two. Charles is a brilliant wine director, and Dan tried to stump us with the blind spirits tasting, but I was 3/3: Armagnac, Eau de Vie, and Calvados.

We had a very nice lunch at Le Coucou. My expectations were something around "elevated brasserie style" and I was indeed pleasantly surprised to come across some old-fashion bistrot dishes like "pâté en croûte", "vol-au-vent" or "baba au rhum". They were all solid, and by nature not chic or sophisticated. Some other dishes on the menu may have a creative twist in taste or presentation, but ours were just classic – yet enjoyable. The service was top-notch, punctuated by several little attentions for my husband's birthday. We had a table overlooking the kitchen, which we loved. We stayed until 3pm and we appreciated not feeling rushed to leave. Overall I assume most of the disappointed reviews may come from the promise of a Michelin "One star" experience. To me, the restaurant perfectly met the Michelin standards and definition of being: "very good in its category". But if you seek something that will leave you in awe, and dishes you'll still remember 5 years from now, this might not be the place. So I would definitely recommend the place to someone who is briefed on the concept and/or wants to discover this part of French gastronomy history and/or just want a great elevated lunch experience.

I had one of the most magical dinners here with a friend. We like to go on food-adventures together, and on an evening when our plans had fallen through, we were walking down Lafayette and saw Le Coucou. We never thought we would get a table walking in off the street, but they surprisingly had a table reserved for walk-ins and we were seated immediately. We sat at a tiny table in the corner next to the kitchen, clearly the least desirable seat in the house, but it was such an experience watching the kitchen and the waiters all evening, we loved it. We tried many things we had never heard of before, including Sweetbread, which we realized wasn’t bread at all, but in fact thymus. Despite our ignorance, everything was incredibly delicious. Overall it was a dinner to remember, I hope to visit again. Maybe this time I’ll make a reservation.

5/5: Ambiance and wine list are what make this dining experience stand out above others. One of the most extensive wine lists packed full of gems. Food was good, though I was not swept off my feet with our starter(foie grad pate and leeks) I will say they do a fantastic job with the leek dish. Perfectly prepared and tender. Cocktails were perfect! Entrees did not disappoint. Highly recommend the bone marrow filet and lobster. The desert was probably the best part of the meal.

at the bottom of 11 howard, near the blond, really liked the yellowfin tuna, great appetizer. The sea bass with shrimp was a nice lighter meal but still fulfilling. the whole rabbit (tout le lapin) comes in 3 parts. The first one was the best IMO, cannot remember what it was. Second part was legs with. broth, and the last was the breast. Legs were really tender and cooked well. that's a big meal! The marjolaine is a flourless cake, so gluten free, comes with a bit of ice cream on the side which accompanied well. very knowledgeable on GF items. le demode- cocktail, really good
