Bar Sixtyfive

Definitely one of the cheapest options to see the NewYork Skyline from above. You have access to both sites: Central Park view and the view to Downtown over Empire State Building and One World Trade Center. The people with reservation sitting closer to the windows. As a bar visitor you just have a standing place in the middle of the room. But anyway - the views are breathtaking. Note: I still havent figured out why there is a different name between the Bar 65 and the Rainbow Room.

Amazing view of New York, minus the throngs of tourists. Yes, i suppose it is a lot cheaper to just pay the ticket to go up one the skyscrapers in the city, but this experience of dining while enjoying the magnificent view is unbeatable. Service was great and so was the food. Would definitely visit again when in New York.

Had a great experience here this week. I came with a party of three on a Wednesday just when they opened, and waited in line for only about 15 minutes. We were nicely dressed but the dress code wasn't strictly enforced at the time, with some people in jeans and t-shirts. Even saw one guy in shorts and sandals (didn't bother us - just mentioning it for those who might be worried about getting in). At first we were a little disappointed as the south windows, which offer the best views (incl. Empire State and WTC), had their blinds drawn. But then they opened a door to allow everyone outside and we were greeted with a gorgeous view over the city. No complaints about our cocktails either, and the service was friendly and professional. All in all, highly recommended. Don't go to Top of the Rock or the WTC observation deck which charge more. Go here, get yourself a $20 cocktail (or cheaper beer/wine) and enjoy the same views for that money while sipping a nice drink.

This iconic building in New York in the Rockefeller plaza was recommended by a few people and was definitely worth the visit, definitely a classy place where dressing up a little wouldn’t hurt, but after a great dinner out we went for some late evening cocktails and a few scotches. The views of the New York skyline and the first class bar staff made the $300.00 worth of (lots of drinks) definitely worth it. The hangover I woke with today was worthwhile.

As a native New Yorker, I would recommend coming here for the view and feel of being in an old NY staple sight. Much better than going to the top and waiting in a long line. They take reservations here on opentable so definitely make one if you plan to visit! Crowd: mix of tourists & locals Food: just okay. Price: pricey for the quality Wine: lots of mediocre domestic wines Verdict: come for sunset for drinks and appetizers. Dinner would probably taste better elsewhere. Overall a good experience for its ambience, views and service.

We decided to go to Bar SixtyFive on a whim, and we are glad we did. Though the drinks are pricey, you get an amazing view of the city for a cheaper price than buying a ticket to the Empire State Building or One World Trade Center. The view was magnificent in the evening and I am so glad we decided to stop.
