The Smith

This is a review for those dining by themselves. You can get a table, or just a high top near the bar. They have great selection of food to appeal to all. I went with the midtown manhattan cocktail, Smith burger, and sticky toffee pudding. The staff are super friendly and you definitely won’t feel “alone”. The perfect ending to a day of being a tourist. You’re going to spend some money. But hey, you’re in New York City, enjoy and splurge!

Walked in without any knowledge of the restaurant. Sat at the bar and was promptly greeted despite the place being packed on a Saturday. Drinks and food were very good. The Mac n Cheese was possibly the best I’ve ever had. Served bubbling in a cast iron skillet. Burger was very good, chicken sandwich was good. We’d definitely go back.

I was a little reluctant because when I walked in it was very lively and noisy and I wanted a calming chill brunch vibe. However, we were fortunately seated in the back tucked away in a small quiet corner which was perfect! The waiter was great, he immediately came and asked if everything was good moments after food arrived and continued to check up on us politely and kindly. The food was amazing. I got the Ranchero and my wife got the Smith Benedict. Everything was perfect, definitely gonna be back.

The place was bigger than expected but has a very great atmosphere. In the main hall it could be a bit noisy if it’s full but that’s ok. There is a separated room in the back where it is even cozier. The food is good and has a great price value range. The service was super fast and I recommend a reservation if you plan to go there as a bigger group

Excellent location and food! We enjoyed a private event in the back room, and the served heavy appetizers were AMAZING along with the professional, friendly and attentive service. I like also the option of mocktails, the bartender was happy to create and make fantastic drinks. I am a fan of the Smith but this easily is my favorite location. Loud with hustle and hustle, this place is huge inside, outside and the bar. I highly recommend this place for an all American dinner or brunch. Private events here too are on spot. Enjoy!!

Great location and atmosphere. Service was awesome as well. Enjoyed the wine and appetizers. Really liked the spicy salmon tartare as it comes on crispy rice. Also recommend the crispy sesame calamari. The sauce is a gochujang aioli and it’s fantastic. Now for my standard comments. Location was clean and felt comfortable with the indoor seating options.

Randomly while walking we decided we wanted Mac and Cheese. During our search The Smith came up so we headed that way. This restaurant is huge and we were very quickly. Our server was prompt with being water to our table and we of course ordered the Mac and cheese which is an appetizer. It was incredible! We were not disappointed at all. We ended up ordering a steak and extra fries to tie us over for dinner. Steak was cooked beautifully as I ordered a medium rare. Fries were hot and tasty. Highly recommend if you're looking for an American restaurant with great food and amazing service.
