Playwright Irish Pub

This bar is amazing, we was in here most nights of our stay as it was next to our hotel. It’s a nice chill bar, not too busy and loud so great for the family to sit and talk around a few drinks. The service is amazing, massive shoutout to Mazum he’s such a great guy and sat with us to talk for ages on some nights. Lots of Real Madrid memorabilia so no doubt the atmosphere is electric during the matches! Heavily recommended to anybody visiting the Herald Square area.

After the craziness of midtown during the holidays, we stopped by the Playwright for food and drinks. What an amazing find. The decorations were beautiful and the service was top notch. We ordered a bunch of appetizers, Playwright burger, and Fish n Chips. All dishes were great! We will definitely be stopping by this pub again soon.

What a gem! Hard to come by a spot in mid town that checks all the boxes but the playwright has a cozy vibe, lovely staff and awesome food. Fish and chips were amazing, as was the house burger. Our table ordered a round of finger foods, wings, chicken strips and mozzarella sticks with our drinks and everything that came out if the kitchen was great. We love this place.

We were seated outside, our waiter came within a few minutes. Took our drink order, which came out pretty quick. He than took our food order. Again came out quickly but someone else brought us our food. We were going to order more drinks but not 1 person came back to check up on us. We were here for 45 minutes, ended up going inside to ask for our check. We would not have even tipped our waiter 10% due to never seeing him again, but this place automatically takes out 18% Very discouraged about this!!! I would recommend this place for the food and atmosphere. Just be cautious about the wait staff. For the prices they should at least come back to make sure all is ok!!!!
