It’s a great spot for baked bread. It’s good. It’s hard to say how great it is cause lots of good bakeries in NY. Almond croissant was not as fluffy:/.

By far my favorite bakery. It has quickly
Become my TO GO spot for snacks. Their Sunday surprise cookies and almond chocolate croissant are must try’s. Everything on the menu is pretty much over the top tasty.

Iconic NYC bakery. Smells great just walking in here! Quick service and enticing selection. I've had their bread at nyc restaurants. They're known for bread loaves and they'll slice them for you. Go for the sourdough. Rugalah are classics here. Staff are friendly.

Love Orwashers so much! Their sourdough loaves are incredible. Pastries just divine. Donuts have a good amount of filling and are simple but delicious.

People who visit quality businesses in NYC and complain about lines and items being sold out late in the day should honestly be banned from being able to review places. Like, what did you expect?!
Orwashers is an amazing bakery. We tried their salmon & dill cream cheese breakfast sandwich, chocolate almond croissant, multigrain bread, seeded rye bread, mini black & whites, and all three flavors of rugelach. Everything was very good, and the only thing that I thought was priced a bit high for what it was was the small boxes of rugelach that were over $12. Then again it's quality ingredients and there is a bit of effort that goes into making it so I'm honestly still going to come back and buy them 🤷♀️ And there's also a million other things i saw that I wanted to get but...til next time.
The one annoying thing was that i did have to remind the cashier that I was still missing items from my order, but i did order a lot and it was early in the day. But just make sure you pay attention, and they'll take care of you.

Review for breakfast breads and bagels only. Breads were cool by 8AM. Pletzel was a favorite—ample seasoning and great with some goat cheese and lox (purchased elsewhere). Bagels on the smaller side and pricey, but standard for the area; better value if made at home, but satisfying on the run.
4 - Will return regularly.

No trip to the Upper East Side should be devoid of a visit to this historic baking establishment. I have been on a hunt for the best regular croissants in NYC and Orwashers is right up there in at least top 5. It is consistently flaky, buttery but has good density. Perfect for afternoon coffee. Also the sourdough, strawberry rhubarb doughnuts and sticky babka are essential binges. I'm so happy that such bakeries are still in gentrified NYC.

They have a fantastic range of bread (loaves) and also sell some by weight - very convenient if you just want freshly baked bread but don’t want the entire loaf. Croissants and muffins are delicious, so are the bagels. Their sticky bun babka is super addictive and they sell them by the loaf or slice. They also serve a New York breakfast sandwich of bagel, lox and cream cheese.

When I heard about an old fashion bakery with 100 years of history, I had to many my trip up to Upper East Side. It still has its loyal customers from decades ago, and still being named one of the best bakeries in the city.
The inside was not set up as an eat-in place, but we were not planning to eat there anyways, so its ok. The inside was well lit with warm yellow tone on the walls. As soon as I walked in, I was hugged by the cozy aroma of bread. They had all sorts of amazing looking baked goods, baguettes, and everything else you could think of at an amazing bakery. They offer fresh baked bread that are baked daily, as well as cookies, donuts, strudels, and more!
They have jelly filled doughnuts that they fill it right there when you order it! Super fresh way to get jam filled doughnuts! The piping instrument were all lined up by the wall, and you pick which kind of doughnut – chocolate glazed or sugar doughnut – and filling type.
I got several kinds of doughnuts with different fillings, and also black and white cookies. They were all really good, loved the cookies! One of the best black and white cookies ever! I will be sure to go back for more sweet goodness in the near future... Read my full review of this bakery and food on my food blog, foodlovergirl.
