Oldcastle Pub & Restaurant

I go there cause it's close to work but you don't get that much of a times square crowd. It's not to noisy and I generally can get a good seat at a high table... even if I'm only getting drinks. They have some happy hour beers. The food is ok, not great. My friend and I enjoy the chicken quesadilla. We'll generally split one over a few drinks. They give you guac, sour cream AND salsa with the appetizer... that's kind of rare. It's kind of an old timey looking place and very unassuming which adds to the appeal

one of the friendliest bars we found in NYC.. yes service can be slower at busy periods but where isnt. we always found service superb (we are from uk so being seated and seen in less than 15 mins is brilliant). the staff were always very friendly and polite and very accommodating. the food was always speedy and hot (again being from uk any meal served in less than 30mins is fast - but mostly order to food on table was around 15 mins or less). we had xmas dinner here last year and if i could have got leave authorised from work we would be booking in again for this years xmas dinner. WILL DEF BE BACK AND THIS BAR WILL BE THE FIRST ONE I VISIT WHEN I GO BACK TO NYC
