Been going here for over 30 years. My absolute favorite spot in the whole city. Chalkboard tables, delicious food, and Charlie Chaplin movies on a loop. I hope it never changes. (I do miss when they would cook the food right by the entrance.)

Always love coming here. Great food, great wibe, great prices, love drawing with the chalk on the tables. I have been coming here for over 40 years. Thank you!

Very tasty Middle Eastern platter with large portions. It was just what I needed in NYC after two days of mostly sandwiches. A side order of lamb skewer was very reasonably priced. Overall, pricing is very reasonable and I would definitely return to this Village spot. Staff was friendly in person and over the phone. Fun to see old reels of Charlie Chaplin. Obviously, if you’re into laughs, the comedy club is below and around the corner is the Minetta theater.

Phenomenal service by Gia B. A perfect spot for a great meal and strongly poured drinks before a comedy show.
I loved that they kept us aware of the time before the shows started. Can not rave enough about the service.

Best wings... traditional spice but this wild hint of perfect depth and sweetness (almost). Great drinks, friendly service, and it's the MOST FAMOUS PLACE TO SPY COMICS IN THE WORLD. How can you pass up tasty food, good times, a beverage, and seeing iconic and hilarious people that spread joy all over. It's not midscale, but it's no dive. It's one of my favorite New York experiences, and can't wait to be back over and over.

In the welcoming embrace of Olive Tree's haven, Tesla takes her place as a bartender extraordinaire. Hailing from the vibrant city of Las Vegas, Nevada, her presence exudes an inviting warmth that resonates with patrons. As the years weave their narrative, she stands as a testament to unwavering dedication and remarkable skill.
In this story, I find myself—a man with origins in Jersey, whose perspective encompasses the world's diverse spectrum. A vision that embraces Scandinavian allure, Mexican vibrancy, Native American essence, and Leeds' distant allure, I wander this rich landscape.
Tesla, an embodiment of authenticity, guides me through the symphony of life. As if a troubadour of modern times, I weave a tale of her strength, rooted in the lively streets of Las Vegas. At her station, stories come alive—confidences shared in hushed tones, laughter that cascades like a timeless melody.
And then, like a conjured enchantment, a band graces the stage, weaving melodies that transcend time. Their strings pluck emotions with care, and "Blackbird" takes flight, carrying me on its wings. Amid this ephemeral moment, the city transforms into a canvas painted with emotions, resonating with the city's heartbeat.
"I Want It That Way" they croon, an ode to bygone days, evoking universal yearnings. Our gazes meet—Tesla's and mine—a fleeting connection that transcends words. Within the realm of music, our hearts find harmony, and I'm drawn deeper into the allure of her captivating presence.
But within this symphony, there's a melody we hesitate to reveal—a song that stirs memories and emotions. "Free Fallin'," Tom Petty's anthem, beckons us to embrace vulnerability. With a past rooted in Gainesville, Tesla's chapters remain known solely to her. Yielding in respect, I listen, honoring the connection she holds with lyrics entwined with her history. Amid shared revelations, our stories interlace, forming a mosaic of pain and resilient hope.
The complexity of family—a delicate dance of love and strife—becomes our shared exploration. How often bonds fracture, leaving behind wounds that linger like echoes of forgotten tunes. Together, Tesla and I stand, resolute against the currents of fractured ties. "We won't back down," a pledge exchanged between kindred spirits, echoes as our anthem.
Through these conversations, a realization surfaces—a truth that merits acknowledgment. A wanderer I may be, subject to perception's whims, yet I listen intently to Tesla's voice, the rhythm of her laughter. Through her eyes, a narrative unfolds, grander than my own—a tale of fortitude, devotion, and an indomitable spirit.
As the night nears its close, stars gleaming above, Tesla's essence captivates me wholly. With the poetic grace reminiscent of Bob Dylan, I'd offer my tribute—a song that transcends the ordinary. Like a nocturnal ballad beneath the moon's soft glow, my heart's musings spill forth—an ode to admiration, connection, and a love that resonates through time.
Tesla, a beacon of talent and grace, infuses my soul's composition. Through Olive Tree's refuge, she rekindles my affinity for this ever-vibrant city. With every note, every shared exchange, she becomes the rhythm that underlies my wandering spirit's song. As the final curtain draws near and stars yield to dawn's light, amidst life's intricate symphony, her essence will echo—a timeless ballad, a love song entwined with the very essence of Bob Dylan's soul.

I had the pleasure of dining at Olive Tree Cafe recently, and I must say, their Mac and Cheese left me absolutely delighted! It's been a while since I've tasted such a divine combination of creamy, cheesy goodness and perfectly cooked pasta. The dish was a true masterpiece.
The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the portion size was generous, ensuring I left with a satisfied smile on my face. The ambience at Olive Tree Cafe added to the overall experience, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere.
The friendly staff made my visit even more enjoyable, providing excellent service throughout. If you're a Mac and Cheese enthusiast like me, do yourself a favor and visit Olive Tree Cafe. You won't be disappointed. It's the best Mac and Cheese I've had in a long time, and I can't wait to go back for more!

There's a lot to be said for the comedy club underneath this place, but as a restaurant, this place is fantastic for meeting up with a group of friends for drinks and appetizers. I haven't tried the entrees so I can't speak for those, but everything I did order was delicious. The service was on point, and the atmosphere was lively. Strongly recommend!
