Dark Horse

The dark horse is becoming a standard lunch venue for my office. The food is very good. So far, I've had the salmon platter and the burger platters, and I've not been disappointed ever. The bartender / waitress has a lot of ground to cover for lunch hour, but she handles it very well, and with a great attitude.

It's what you'd expect, not quite a dive bar, but nothing classy. Go for drinks with friends after work, but don't eat till after you've had a few drinks. The food isn't bad, but it's better three or four drinks in. I appreciated the vegan menu, but watch out, vegan apps are served with dairy ranch dressing.

What a great spot for a pint and bite in Murray Hill - I came in at lunchtime and there was a healthy, but not overwhelming crowd. It's the perfect, non-pretentious spot to meet up with a friend or colleague. Best part? Tons of vegan options on the menu. Say whaaaaaat...an Irish bar with vegan bar food? I know it sounds unusual, but don't question the genius. I love their vegan cauliflower bites with buffalo sauce - HELLA YUM ($12). One of the bartenders, Anna took good care of me and was one of the chillest bartenders I've had in town. Made me my favorite unusual drink (Red Bull Light with a splash of grenadine and a lemon), knowledgeable on the menu items and always checked in with me. Almost the entire staff is actually from Ireland, so ya know it's gonna be darn good.
