Such a cute place. The downstairs is great for buying deserts or coffee that smells amazing. Upstairs, they have dinner. Their server is really nice. The food is wonderful. We ordered an appetizer that had cheese and a salad that tasted amazing. Very good place.

If you feel homesick for Astoria, this is where you go. Great Greek food choices with a coffee shop and a variety of Greek pastries. Friendly staff will make you feel at home at this spacious Midtown location. I highly recommend!

The food is delicious!!! I got lentils & rice as my base with sides of Greek salad and black eyed beans salad and roasted lamb. The portions are too big for lunch for me, so I split it between two days. The desserts look so scrumptious but haven't tried them yet. I wish they turn down the music a little in the back. It's hard to understand the server, and for them to understand my order.

Much better when it was Fournos—this location has now raised the prices (very disproportionate to general inflation seen In other restaurants) with quality and portion sizes that have remained the same or deteriorated. The food is still decent quality and variety, hence the second star, but nothing exemplary to justify $16-$18 for a fast casual portion of protein + 3 side scoops. Normally I would not lower a rating based solely on pricing, because that’s something a guest can judge for themselves before determining to patronize the restaurant. Here, however, they have removed all signage so it’s a total guessing game until you get to the register, even with varying pricing by protein choice. Glad it’s still around but wouldn’t give it another shot until pricing adjusts or value increases.

Someone likened Fournos Theophilos to Eataly when describing it to me. Perhaps but on a much smaller scale. Fournos Theophilos is thoughtfully put together, with informal seating and excellent cooked food. My party of four adults and one child met for brunch there. The portions are well-priced. Everyone’s dish arrived perfectly salted, no need for any additional. I had a tomato soup with feta swirl in the middle. (I am sharing a picture here but forgot to take it before stirring the bowl.) I also had a mac-n-cheese dish and it arrived with firm pasta. Very tasty. The rest of the adults ordered egg-based dishes and the child went for a cheese pie. We also had one dessert, a bougatsa, which was sweet and creamy and had firm phyllo. Five orders, beverages and coffees plus one dessert all came to a little under $100. Seating is comfortable and tables are well-spaced. You will not be sitting on top of one another. The bathrooms are utilitarian. There is a small Greek market in the center (hence the “Eataly” interpretation from my friend) with some excellent selections. Spanakopita (spinach pie) looks fresh (you can tell) and there are jarred sweets and Greek beverages. I even purchased a tote bag to carry my goodies away. PS: How does Fournos Theophilos differ from GRK? They both offer “fast” Greek food. GRK specializes in grilled food, like souvlaki, and offers the occasional baked dish, like spanakopita. Fournos Theophilos is “home-cooked” and has the market.

Great addition to Midtown. I enjoyed customizing a hearty snack at the yogurt bar, which offered two types of Greek yogurt and a unique array of toppings. The baked goods and warm food also looked extremely satisfying.

My husband & I spent $32 for 2 bowls of lunch. You can choose for each plate 1 main, 2 sides and 1 base. In quantity it's pretty decent. The only thing I didn't like was their containers were so small that they had to put one or two sides over the rest of food but in quality and flavor it's really good! I enjoyed greek food!
