Great spot for food on the go. Buffet is always hot and fresh with the authentic flavor everybody loves. Try the empanadas too, usually 3 kinds to choose from, beef, chicken and cheese, all are flaky, moist and delicious. Desert too, 4 leches, always better than tres leche...turns into the place to party at night so come early to eat, stay late to dance, Holla!!

The food from el merengue NEVER disappoints me. I have been eating here for years and have never dined in but the women servers/cashiers are so nice and pretty and the food is usually a different selection but I think it’s cause they make everything fresh for the day. Many people go here so it can be packed at times and they speak primarily Spanish but none of that matters, it’s just info. Most important info: the food is top tier

I recently just left this establishment because their extremely rude. I stood on a line by myself for 5 mins and it was at least 5 workers behind the counter. Not one said hello, give me a min, or anything. I had to walk out because what kind of service is that. I was literally just standing there and you would have thought I was invisible.

The food here is excellent but overall the service is pretty terrible. If you're looking for take out and don't mind a quick dry interaction with the server then this place is worth giving it a try for the food. However, if you are looking for a place to sit down and have a nice meal, this may not be the place for you. In my experience, when I visited this place, the server who took my order was very unfriendly and abrupt, I observed her put my food in the microwave before bringing it to me, did not check on us throughout the entire meal, and at the end when I asked for the bill, she stood there silently after giving it to me with her arms crossed waiting for me to give her the money, then when she brought us back the receipt, she waited there again with her arms crossed not saying anything waiting for me to sign the receipt and once I handed her the receipt she started cleaning the table off without even giving us a chance to get up. I've eaten here before with take out, and again I do say the food is good but that was the first time I dined in and it will definitely be my last.
