Pizza King

I’ve always loved this place and their food. My husband and I got wrapped up in house stuff this evening and didn’t want to cook so we called to see if we could get delivery. We ordered and were told 45-1 hour- totally acceptable. After 1 1/2 hours we called and were told the girl left 5 mins ago and would be on her way to us. Another 30 mins went by and we called again and the girl who answered screamed at my husband as soon as she answered- very unprofessional(I was on speaker phone) and called him names. We cancelled everything We will never order from the here again. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I grew up in Lafayette where Pizza King ruled. This was not the pizza King of old. Weird cheese and they added oregano. It was ok. I also ordered stroms to go home and freeze. I don't think I'll order the pizza again, sadly, as I was so looking forward to a taste of home, and it just wasn't it. The crust, at least, wasn't bad. I am very saddened.

Local pizzeria with unique, highly addictive pizza and excellent "strombolis"! EAT HERE. GO NOW. Eating at Pizza King is a highlight of every trip back home to Evansville. The diced pepperoni and thin, slightly charred crust I've never found elsewhere. I've eaten embarrassing amounts of this pizza in a single sitting. Their strombolis (for those not from the area, we've misappropriated the term - Evansville stroms are not a true stromboli, but rather a delicious sub-like sandwich with sausage, onions, tomato sauce, and mozzarella) are fantastic. There is another great location on St. Joseph and Franklin (west side of Evansville) where I ate growing up, but I usually stay nearer to the Newburgh shop when I visit. The staff in Newburgh are great and they recognize me even though I only make it in once or twice a year. :)
