Gusto - Newcastle

So I booked for 8.15 and immediately was told to wait . We then got moved along by the staff to the bar with another 20 minute wait … the staff were lovely but they definitely overbooked as there were multiple groups waiting by the bar … once we were seated it was great ! The food was lovely and the drinks were great , it was a lovely atmosphere and the staff did really accommodate us once seated . I had the calamari which was soo good ! So thank you for turning around what we started off as a awkward start to the night !

We came for an evening meal with work colleagues and we were not disappointed ! Great atmosphere, couple of drinks before we sat. Table service was fabulous! Friendly helpful and very accommodating. Had some amazing scollops and crab was lovely, asked for a little extra spice and they very kindly added for me ! Lovely food !! I’d recommend to all to try here !! Great wine too !!

The ‘Merry Berry Bauble’ Christmas mock-tail was too die for, that was the best thing about the experience. Honestly one of the nicest drinks I’ve ever had in my life. Was super loud because of a work party, no fault of the staff they were super lovely and helpful about it. (It just with the floors being mezzanine and drinks flowing all night for them they were very loud to the point of not hearing the person your sat next to). The food was okay. Could see it being a nice place for friends or family gatherings.

Fabulous clean and well presented restaurant located on the Tyne Quayside. We made reservations in advance, and we're seated on the upper floor. It's worth noting that as time progressed, the restaurant filled significantly. Helpful and friendly staff, table service. We asked for water for the table and noted that until the bottled option had been opened and poured, tap water was not brought to the table. We chose to opt for wine by the bottle as it was a much cheaper option than by the glass. The food was superb, very generous potion sizes, and all served hot. There was literally no room for dessert, as temping as the menu was. The upstairs toilet facilities were in good condition and clean, and there was no queue for the ladies during our visit. When presented with the bill, we did have to ask for the service charge to be removed. We made our own decisions about the value of service received. We would definitely visit again, especially for the calamari, which was exceptional.
