This was a last minute choice on a Sunday night when there was nothing available at the wharf end of town for six of us. Turned out to be the best and most generous meals in town in a very friendly pub atmosphere. Along with a couple of complimentary cocktails for the lads, we had a feast and the younger local members of our group were planning to return soon.

One of the few places in Newcastle it seems that has a late night liquor licence. Pretty good chicken schnitty and the trivia is fun too.

Brilliant time had by all. Easy access. Good value. Water views. Friendly staff and prompt service. Will def be back and recommendations will be passed around generously.

Love going into this place. Awesome option for an inner-city pub lunch for those who work or live in town. The food is always delicious and the atmosphere is relaxing and friendly. I’ve also been to a few of their stand-up-comedy and trivia nights which were a lot of fun.

This venue doesn't care at all about the volume of their music. Every Friday and Saturday they play music till 2-3am. They gave all the residents living nearby contact details if music is too loud but no one replies or does anything. Ridiculous!

This pub is easily one of my fave newy venues. It is family friendly, dog friendly, the staff are fun and professional, and the owner is a massive legend that gets behind a number of community fundraiser events. 10/10 would recommend

I’ve left a review here before, but last time I was here had the greatest night of my life. Met my now wife, best friend and met my 2nd cousin for the first time!!! The owners were also in at the time and were super nice, food was fantastic and drinks were good as ever (had a woo woo). Cya next time Crown and Anchor xx

The staff are wonderful, the food amazing! And yes the beer goes down very well 👍 with all the construction going on around them right now please know they are open and ready to serve 🍻
