Mucho's Mexican

I love this place. Great decor and music and a nice atmosphere. We stopped for a late dinner about 8 p.m. and the staff were lovely and reminded us the kitchen was closing soon. Got our orders in, had some corn chips and dips beforehand and dinner was delicious though not quite hot enough. Good food though, tastes like somebody actually made it rather than being like cheap takeaway food. The chips and dip at the beginning were really lovely.

So very disappointing. Small serving size, meals not all delivered even close to same time. The real killer though was the 'chocolate enchilada' I purchased for desert. A single flour tortilla, scoop of soft melted ice cream and a squirt of home brand chocolate topping. Would have cost them 70 to 90 cents to make. I can assure you they charged me a LOT more than that.

Understaffed, wasn't given any table water. Passionfruit margarita only tasted of lychees, had sugar around the rim not salt, and a sad orange slice squished onto the rim of the glass. Ordered a chilli cheese bread starter, which was 2 small cheap tortillas (coles burrito kit quality) with a tiny bit of cheese and chilli oil on top. The seafood pie had only 1 small prawn, a tea spoon amount of seafood extender "fish meat", and 2 small scallops. Side salad was warm and wilted, and plate boiling hot, most likely from sitting under a food warmer for a while. Despite this it was a slight improvement to the last time I was here where the staff were rude and disinterested. Can't see myself coming back anytime soon.

I'd spied @Muchos_Mexican and decided to visit for dinner. The combinations are a great way to get variety so I got the following: Chicken taquito, Beef and Cheese Enchilada, Bean and Cheese Taco, served with rice The taco lacks seasoning which would enhance the lovely crunchy taco with a tasty black bean paste like filling. Of course melted cheese makes anything taste that much better. The chicken taquito was crunchy on the outside with tender chicken on the inside. The touch of sour cream and tomato sauce livens up the dish. My favourite was the enchilada. Soft tortilla, delicious beef filling with lots of gooey melted cheese. Yum! I was also served complimentary crispy corn chips with a lovely salsa. I didn't realise they offer desserts too. Hard to say no! Chocolate enchilada wrapped ice cream with butterscotch. As described, would be good if the tortilla were a little softer but once you cut through, get some ice cream and the chocolate and butterscotch sauce, it's quite an enjoyable dish, one that kind of brings out the kid in you!
