Wests Mayfield

My dinner keeps me awake with heartburn so I am leaving this comment. I had checked the reviews and it looked OK so I went. This is the second time ever in my life I couldn’t finish a burger and the first time was when I not knowingly ordered a chicken burger needless to say I don’t like chicken. I cannot stop thinking the meal was such a waste of meat! Fries was soaked in oil. I wouldn’t comment on price it is not cheap or even average at all but 4$ for ketchup! Why? I travel a lot for work and I don’t even spend my own money but this is robbery with the simplest description. Definitely was my last time in here also in the hotel! I have had a lot more pleasing food in Neecastle many times, this one is particularly disappointing!

The food here was the best value of all the meals we had on our recent trip to Newcastle. The kids in particular loved the crunchy, perfectly cooked chips. I loved the great selection of beers on offer too. Staff were smiling and welcoming. The atmosphere was much warmer than Wests New Lambton, (which was a bit like sitting in a big work canteen.) Very clean too.

We ordered knowing there was a long wait. We were ok with that. After an hour and twenty minutes, my husband went to collect our meals. His was ready but was told they had run out of what I had ordered so I would have to order something else. When asked why wouldn’t you tell us this before cooking his meal, all they could say was we are busy (not in a very apologetic way at all - it was defensive and rude). I asked for a refund as we had two young children who would have had to sit there even longer waiting for my meal which I would have been eating well after my family were finished. My husband’s steak sandwich was dry and tasteless. Not worth the wait at all. Extremely disappointed in the service and food and will never be returning to West Leagues Mayfield again.
