Hashtag Justin Chef

I came to #ashtag as a few friends had recommended it. Our waitress was very welcoming and friendly. The decor inside was really decorative, lighting was just right, the restaurant was small but accommodated everyone perfectly. The choice of food is plentiful and there is plenty of drinks choices. At first we thought the food was not going to be enough but whilst eating the food, we found it was very filling, I could not finish the desert. The pictures captured the presentation of the food and the food was so tasty, very filling and worth every penny. The menu seems expensive but when you are served quality and tasty food, you appreciate it. And it was cooked/prepped by Justin. I'm glad Justin came to this town and opened this restaurant, I will be back for more.

I've wanted to visit Hashtag since it opened and I saw what Justin and his team where doing with their dining experience, it looked too good to be true. But it is true and our experience there was perfect. Brilliant service, incredible, beautiful food, a fun and lively atmosphere. We got dressed up and ate a 3-course meal as a celebration, but the atmosphere is such that you can easily go smart-casual for a 1-course lunch and a catch-up with a friend. There isn't anywhere else like this in Northampton and part of the enjoyment was seeing other diners receive their food with aplomb and drama, then the ooooos and ahhhs as they saw their food. It was quite delightful. And the food didn't just look like works of art, but it tasted divine. Everything was cooked to perfection. It's not cheap but actually, the quality of the food comes across with the price and other places charge far more for less. I was impressed with the portion sizes as they aren't miniscule but decent. It’s the kind of food that keeps you wondering and discovering flavour combinations with each bite, but actually fills you up. Anyway, none of the four of us had been there before but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we can’t think of anything but positive stuff to say about it. Can’t wait to go back!

Superb food. Can’t believe this place has been in Northampton for 3 years and I’ve just discovered it! Food is very nice, tasty, presentation is beautiful; a proper chef’s work of art 😊. Even the water came with glasses which already had cucumber, orange and lemon in them. From drinks to food to service, excellent place, 5*. Will return soon!

Fantastic food with a big portion size. Each dish pushes the envelope on taste and flavours, although sometimes there can be a little too much going on. I ordered the duck after a crayfish starter, and it was cooked beautifully. I can't wait to come back and try something else, as their signature pork belly had sold out when I was there.

I went to this restaurant with low expectations because of the bad neighbourhood its located in and the small space it's squished in. Make no mistake though, the food quality in here make up for literally every downside (which there are not many of). The food tastes even better than it looks in the pictures. It's probably the best food i've had at a restaurant in Northampton. This place is a hidden gem. I had some smoked lamb ribs and these came with a klosh on top, which released some smoke that was flavouring the dish as it was brought to me. The diversity of the food is interesting as well, ranging from soups to steaks and Spanish paella's. The decor is decent, but you wouldn't be wow'd by it as you walk in. The star of the place is definitely the food and the atmosphere. It feels homey, comfortable and welcoming. I shook the chef's hand as I was still pleasantly surprised by the experience, I have my next booking with them due soon, and I would say this is the one place you should not miss if you're in Northampton.
