The Fox & Hounds - Harlestone

Stopped at the pub after a long walk and was not disappointed. friendly staff and reasonable prices. Luckily we booked a table as it was very busy, even late afternoon. Ordered the Trio of Roasts as couldn't decide on a meat. Well worth it! Beef, pork and chicken, crackling, stuffing wrapped in bacon, bread sauce with some veggies hidden in there and a few roast potatoes. Chased this with a mini dessert (choc brownie) and a coffee. Wasn't as 'mini' as I thought it would be which was a nice surprise. Delicious. Nice setting too. Definitely recommend.

The staff in this pub were lovely, really attentive. The food was OK... nothing special, in my opinion (I had the chicken burger and chunky chips). I've had the same standard of food for MUCH lower prices. That being said, I would go again as a special treat (I mean, logistically, I wouldn't. But I'm ignoring the fact that I live 3 hours away...) as the atmosphere was good. All in all, it served us well for a relaxed 10-year university reunion meal.

This is by far my favourite haunt! And last nights meal was even better than the last. Shannon and Harry were amazing hosts for the evening. Even though the place was busy, our service was prompt and the food arrived in great time and was delicious. I also need to tell you that these two, Shannon and Harry, had me and my date in giggles all night. I felt we had dinner and entertainment which was an extra special touch. I had the lamb rump which was melt in the mouth good! My date had the fish and chips which he said was absolutely beautiful! Overall, I love this place and I highly recommend everyone checks it out!

Our waitress Ella was absolutely amazing. We went as a table of 9 people on a very busy Saturday night, yet Ella’s service made us feel like we were the only table she was serving, which definitely wasn’t the case! The food was amazing and Ella helped us with the menu as one of group members has many food intolerances. Ella helped us put different foods together to create a meal which wasn’t on the menu. The chef was so accommodating! Lovely service, amazing food, perfect evening!

What a fantastic hidden gem! We had a great lunch experience from start to finish. I even miss coming to a place and have nothing to complain about, but I have to say, the place it was meeting our expectations and it did deliver today. Very friendly and helpful staff also, the restaurant design is very quirky and lovely. Food was tasty, good amount, and also the lunch set price, but at good value. A huge diversity of drinks available too, and the elderflower sherbet (non-alcoholic) is a must try(my favourite drink). Will definitely find a reason to travel back. Plenty of parking spaces too, and easy to find.

Lovely atmosphere! Staff were fantastic but the wait for food was quite long - understandable on a busy Friday evening. Cocktails were very nice (recommend the mai tai). The food varied, calamari was lovely. The chicken burger was also great however the fries were standard. The desserts were average and I was particularly disappointed by the pavlova which was basically just a hollow meringue with a few berries around it. Overall an enjoyable meal!

Me and three friends wanted to treat ourselves and spend time with one another, and we couldn't have done it in a better, more comfortable venue. We really enjoyed our wonderfully cooked mains of lamb, pork and lemon sole, and a variety of beautiful desserts. The cocktail menu (incredible quality at 2-4-1!) - and menu overall - had so much to offer in the way of freshness and choice, and our drinks were well prepared. We all however wanted to highlight the fantastic, personable, prompt and ultimately brilliant service we received from Megan. We greatly enjoyed not only Megan's menu knowledge and attentiveness, but her bright personality and warmth. She made our already excellent experience so fun. We look forward to visiting again and seeing Megan especially. Thank you!
