Stopped off at the Dog and Quayle during a long journey for some food. Wow, the food was great. I had salt and pepper squid starter then rib eye steak. My wife had fish and chips. I can honestly say the food was great. Will definitely stop off here again. The staff and locals were really friendly and made you feel welcome. Highly recommended.

Not sure why my last review didn't post disappeared. But lovely and friendly people and made extra fuss of my toddler and very nice atmosphere, just a shame about not serving an alternative milk for coffee as I'm lactose intolerant - but chose another drink instead, and a bit sticky tables for some reason🙈apart from that delicious Sunday Roast Dinner and we will be back again this weekend for Mother's Day! :)

Re Sunday Carvery. The food and service here is excellent and outstanding. The guys who run this place are so kind and relaxed. The meat is first class. The Beef and Gammon was perfect, high quality, virtually no fat. The vegetables perfectly cooked. All home made. Also, generous portions and the guys say would you like some more when you have finished your plate.

The food was plentiful, tasty, appeared to be of a high standard and was reasonably priced. The service was different to what we are accustomed to, but highly competent and the staff polite. No criticisms.
The atmosphere, whilst decent, is not as pleasant as it used to be, but we are unsure as to whether the present aesthetics reflect an intermediate stage of renovation?
We would still recommend the Dog and Quayle.

Me and my partner randomly walked into this place and asked if they do breakfast. The food was exactly what we needed, great sausages, really nice beacon, perfect amount of beans and a really well cooked egg. The staff were really friendly and the service was pretty fast. The only comments we had were that the coffee wasn't the best and we wish the toast was thicker and hotter. But it's safe to say we're really glad we found this place and we will be back.

Staff were really welcoming and friendly. Food was absolutely delicious (I had the spinach tortellini, my friends had the carbonara and the rump steak). Portions were very generous. The homemade chips were outstanding! A high quality, good value meal, in a pleasant atmosphere. Would highly recommend a visit and I know the new team at The Dog and Quayle would really appreciate your support with their new venture. Looking forward to the Moroccan cuisine next time!

Have been coming here for a while now and will continue to do so simply because the food is consistently of a very high standard. The staff are always friendly and accommodating with nothing being too much trouble. I have tried every starter and I still struggle to decide each time I visit as they are all absolutely stunning! The curry dishes too are bursting with flavour .I have also found the chef happy to make dishes that are not on the menu and I haven't been disappointed yet!

Staff are very welcoming and pleasant. I had steak with blue cheese sauce. Enjoyed every bite. Didn't want it to end. The chips reminded me of homemade chips 👌
My dessert was lemon cake with ice cream was amazing!! Highly recommend a visit to this place. The music has been very up beat and very enjoyable.

Lovely homemade Sunday lunch here. Fresh, hot carvery with more than just the usual meats to choose from. Puds looked and tasted good too, wish I had room for more! We walked in and there was room but looked like they took bookings too.
