Oakleigh Fish & Chippery

The old newspapers as a laminated table covering is a great idea. If the news were also readable, it would have been fantastic. The flying saucer news were the most fascinating article. Anyways, fish and chips was good. Cost of the food was ok. We got a lemon soda and a small Pepsi bottle for $9:30. Nearly close to another meal price. Go to the nearby market for drinks, unfortunately the owner charges more than 100% profit on them. Chips was so crunchy. I need to commend on the deep fryer. 😊

Situated away from the hustle and bustle of the main strips of Oakleigh and with plenty of parking opposite this is now one of my fave fish and chipperiers. Voted as one of the top ten in Melbourne it's not hard to see why - fish is so fresh, chips are super crunchy and you can even choose to have chicken salt, sea salt, oregano or cracked pepper on them and everything is cooked to perfection! If you eat in it is served up to you on printed newspaper and there's even wet wipes for your hands! Staff are super helpful and friendly to top it all off and hubby and I will be back next week!

Best fish and chip shop I’ve been to. The crunchiness in the chips, flake, potato cakes - everything - is next level. We live in Oakleigh so have been going here for a couple of years now, so good to have a brilliant fish and chip shop around the corner. The service is excellent, very friendly people. Only problem is that they underestimate the wait, so I usually just add an extra 10 mins onto whatever time they give you, no dramas.

Ordered 2 fish burgers over the phone and went to pick them up.They were delicious but I think there should be more options for bread as white bread is the only option. We asked for extra onion in one but they forgot to put it in. We added beetroot and added a bit of peri peri sauce to mine. The cost for 2 burgers with extras mentioned was $30. I thought it was pricey because the take away menu we had at home said $10 each for the fish burger. I think they may have brought out a new menu with higher prices maybe? I would still buy this again because it was tasty and service was friendly and good.
