Jalisco Cantina

Came here for a few drinks on Sunday, our waitress Chelsea was awesome, and we got a few apps. I forgot to take pics of those 😅 but I highly recommend the shrimp guacamole it comes with a tostada, really good, and we had chips and salsa. The salsa could use salt, but besides that it was good, and we got the bean smash which was also delicious. This place is very vegetarian/vegan friendly. Usually my partner only has 1 choice, but there were a few options vegan friendly, so he was happy to have options for once. It’s small but they have spaced out the seating, all of the drinks I tried were delicious! And they were only $11 a piece, which is a great price for signature cocktails. They close pretty early ☹️

Loved this new found spot in downtown Oceanside. The food was fantastic! So fresh tasting and good portions. Prices were quite reasonable too. I tried the Cilantro margarita without the agave and it was fabulous! The shrimp and yellowtail dish was delicious... yum! Maximum occupancy here tops at 47. We arrived just before 5pm and had our selection of seating. Sat at the window seat and relaxed to enjoy people watching. By the time we left just on the other side of 7pm, the place was packed which is always a great sign. Highly recommend!

We tried out Jalisco Cantina after talking with the CEO of Wild Barrel and were not disappointed! My fiance had the garlic shrimp tacos and the carnitas tacos were recommended for me. Great choice! Our friends had the Chili Verde and shrimp yellowtail plate and it was all delicious. Their liquor menu is extensive! If you like tequila, this is the place! This is a must visit while in Oceanside!

The only reason for three stars and not one is that our service was exceptional and the overall vibe is great. The food, not so much. I ordered a corn salad. I expected more salad than corn, but I'd guess there was the equivalent of 2 cans of corn and not a whole lot of lettuce. The corn was good, but man. It was a LOT of corn. The photo is what's left once I finished.

I'm not sure what all you have to do to quality ingredients to make them so flavorless, but they managed here. Super fresh ingredients, food all made from scratch -- but was so bland. Part of the problem was prep, the shrimps and chicken were essentially boiled so leaked watery spice flavor. I think the flavor just soaked right off. This meat was BEGGING to be grilled but instead it was lifeless, flavorless, boiled lumps of wet meat.
