L&l Hawaiian Barbecue

Not bad, ultimately, but far from good. The menu is fairly basic, and you certainly pay for your larger meals. I got the Large BBQ, on the first setting, the beef was fairly good, served with a teriyaki like take with zero spice, a bit of rice and some cold potato salad. In the second time, I ordered curry beef, and that was stupidly disappointing. The dish was just so blend it was bordering awful. I think folks that know food wouldn’t make this a regular. Additionally, the restaurant wasn’t that clean. There were dirty marks on the chairs and food mess on the table, I had to use a high chair for my son that was so dirty, I had to get wet wipes from my car to clean. And don’t get me set on toilet, that was perhaps the worst I’ve seen in many years. I do firmly believe, if you can’t keep your tables, chairs and toilet areas clean you can’t cook and store food clean. This part of California has great food, I don’t think this place is worth the gamble, given the poor cleaning practices.

Pros: The beef was of decent quality. Not too chewy. Well coated with teriyaki sauce (not too much not too little). Cons: There was no teriyaki sauce for the rice and only one scoop of mac salad. The portion in comparison to Aloha Hawaiian BBQ in Santa Ana CA or Moku Hawaiian in Chandler AZ was sad, and also $2-$3 more expensive

Got the BBQ Chicken Plate. I really enjoyed the food here! Never had Hawaiian before. There was a wait, but that’s what I expect from a place that makes food by order so it’s fresh! I also tried the Chicken Katsu, that was really good too! Nice and crispy! The egg rolls were fresh! The sweet sauce that comes with it! Mmmm! Must get the EGG ROLLS!

I had a coupon for this place so I decided to try it out. We went on a Wednesday and it seemed a little quiet when we went in. The menu had so many options I didn’t know what to choose! I went with a mini loco moco, mini chicken katsu, mini bbq chicken, and a shrimp saimin. The saimin was nothing spectacular just shrimp and noodles (i thought there would be more to it) but everything else was really good! Chicken was moist which I a plus in my book. The only weird thing is everything was Togo even when I said it was here, kind of a waist especially since styrofoam is suppose to be banned I thought. The lady behind the counter also seemed irritated when we ordered.
