Joe's Cafe

My boyfriend, our best friend, and I stopped here for lunch this morning after getting tattoos just a couple of doors down. We expected a small, local diner and what we got was out of this world. The menu is THICK. A huge variety of offerings with something for everybody. Their breakfasts are to die for. Their lunch items too. Their daily specials are the right mix of unique and inclusive. The service is outstanding. I ordered lemonade, and my server just flat out said it was garbage. Did not hold back. She could tell I was serious about my lemonade. What she did have was Tamarind Jarritos which I definitely wanted more than lemonade. At one point, the local mail carrier stopped in, and the staff inquired about maybe doing a wellness check on a customer they hadn't seen in a while. That's the kind of small town diner experience I'd expect in Marceline, Missouri but, here it is in Omaha, Nebraska. Go. get food. and tip your waitress.

Nice little Cafe in Benson area of Omaha, guess it's been there like 80 years!! Think that says a lot by itself right?? My waitress V was super nice and helpful. The pic is of my veggie omelet with turkey sausage, I was super happy they had some other protein other than pork 😁 hashbrowns were nice and crispy on the outside 😋 and most importantly. .they make a good cup of joe!! Great more than reasonable pricing and did you ser the bathroom (womens sorry fellas didn't see yours🤷🏾‍♀️). This place is seriously ALWAYS packed so they gotta be doin something right! Little hole in the wall with good coffee, good food and very friendly service. Biscuits and gravy were delicious but could use a little more meat in the gravy to meet my high southern girl standards. French toast was yummy and the eggs were perfectly done, hash browns were average, I'd ask for them to be crispyer the next time. The star of the meal was the sausage patties. I don't generally care for sausage, but kept asking hubby for bites of it. This one's staying on our Tuesday breakfast rotation.

Being a first time mom to a newborn, I had to DoorDash some breakfast or I wasn’t gonna get the chance to eat. Ordering breakfast is usually risky as it’s normal cold and soggy by the time it gets to you. But the food was still nice and warm, perfectly cooked bacon (nice and crispy) and SO yummy. Will have to try and make it in one day. Super thankful for how fast they were and how yummy the food is!
