Iron Skillet Restaurant

Quality Quantity and Service! This is what this place brings to the table! The food is delicious and quantity that they bring you is highly worth the price! Pancakes are fluffy and the Country Fried Steak was crispy and tasty! You cant go wrong dropping by at this place if you ever find yourself by old town Ontario. Located a street (H Street) above Rite Aid Plaza. The restaurant only has a few parking spots in the back but plenty of street parking.

I was a little disappointed that Google showed this place as accepting online reservations, but it doesn't. However, the wait wasn't too bad. Our waitress was amazing. Very attentive! The portions are huge, but the flavor left a lot of room to be desired. I like to try mom and pop restaurants as they can be very impressive... This one had a great waitress, faster than average service, but food was just OK.

I assumed that this cafe/restaurant would be a quaint hole in the wall... Boy was I wrong! Upon entering The Iron Skillet, I was immediately greeted by a group of wonderful servers who were not wearing masks. Apparently, my group would have done well to make reservations in advance. We waited approximately 20-30 minutes to be seated. Even though I came on a weekday, this place was packed! Mostly because it was the week of graduations 🎓. We were seated infront of a large fireplace that added to the ambiance. Once seated, it took a little time for our server, Brian, to get our drinks and take our orders. One of my friends later informed me that she was told that he had just started the job. I'd give his overall rating a 6.75/10. What he lacks in memory, he makes up for in grandiose acts of hospitality, personable connectivity and humor. My group commented on how we felt like we were "regulars." In spite of the newbie, I highly recommend this restaurant. 8.5/10. It's decor has a comfy old school feel, yet there are a couple of flat screen TVs 📺. I'm sure they would be turned on in the afternoon, if they had more employees so that they could stay open past 3pm. Again, if you're looking for a clean place to have a many family, private or banquet style dining experiences, please consider joining my friends and I by showing patronage to this business. I'm sure the owner Tommy would be thankful.

I have eaten here before and had a very good experiences. This time I ordered a omelet with veggies and ham and a side of pancakes and my food was semi-warm and the eggs on my omelet were cooked a bit more than I am used to. Though the food tasted ok all in all the restaurant was quite busy being 1200 pm and I did not request my meal to be re-done. To get extra condiments took a while as well. I hope my next visit will be better but I understand it was a busy time there the day I visited. Still enjoy the great food and selection they offer.
