Iron Skillet

I came here to eat dinner on November 20, 2021 at 4:17 PM. During MY visit, I found the dining room to be spacious and CLEAN! There was cool music playing in the background. The is also a TV you can sit closer if you want to watch. My server was Margaret. (correct spelling I hope.) Margaret was sweet, polite and accommodating. There was no buffet, I suppose due to Covid. I saw the staff working as a team, regardless of station assignment. An older woman took my order, as Margaret was busy elsewhere. I ordered the Steerburger, which was an 8 ounce chopped steak with gravy and grilled onions. I asked for medium rare with the gravy on the side. Iron Skillet loses a star because the gravy was down right TERRIBLE. Canned or packaged gravy of some sort, just add water and walla! ...instant gravy. That's why I ask for it on the side, just in case. C'mon guys, fresh gravy is NOT difficult to make. Why put nasty gravy on a great chopped steak, cooked as I ordered it, medium rare? The grilled onions on the chopped steak was a hit too! I also has a baked potatoe which was great and they give you plenty of butter and sour cream. The meal came with a nice piece of grilled garlic bread, which just had a hint of garlic flavor. I started my meal with a bowl of Corn Chowder, which was pretty decent. Plenty of crackers came with soup. So truckers, do come here to get a decent meal I found it worth the $20.23 including the tip I paid and I will certainly return when next I am in Colton.

I always try to see the positive but today I couldn't help but try, over cooked my sirloin, warm coffee, Chewing pancakes and last but not least my toast came 20 minutes after my dish. a lot of laughter from the waitresses but lousy service. if you can avoid do it there are more restaurants right here.

Family and I dined in here today...We haven't been here in 5 years. It has changed. Disappointed with the food. It was not good at all. I had ordered the grilled chicken breast w/baked potato, biscuit and a salad. My baked potato looked like a deflated football😳It was horrible!!😳🤢🤮 It was really 1/2 a star.

We ate breakfast in here this morning. Not impressed with service at all. I believe Zareya was our "server". She obviously didn't know the menu and did not refill our waters or bring jelly until we got a to go box. She was not busy, maybe 3or 4 two tops. I was a bartender and Server for a long time and there is no reason for her being so slow and unable to to the job she was employed to do.

Absolutely the greatest food for the price. Healthy portions for a truck driver. The buffet for dinner is only $13.49. Fried Chicken, lasagna, pasta Alfredo, assortment of bread and might I mention the cornbread is the size of a slice of cake. Wonderful service from start to finish (burp). Pardon me, very nice selection at the salad bar also. Thank you so much to Karlene for great service.

I stop here a few times a month on my breaks from work. It is consistently good, although there are occasional one offs of less than stellar food. The service is always exceptional. Desean is my favorite server, he always has a great attitude, he goes above and beyond, and he's a real day brightener. Today they rolled out a new menu and I ordered the traditional eggs benedict. The price was good at $8.69 and it tasted great. My favorite things about this restaurant are the adorable squirrels that perch in the window and watch you eat. There's a really fat one I see every time I visit and I call her "Fat Mama."
