Gram's Kitchen

Recently stopped in for dinner. We were greeted very quickly and seated just as fast. Before I even looked at the menu, the walls of the restaurant really caught my attention. They have done a combination of hand painted business cards along with a graphic map mural if the area on the back wall. The detail is amazing. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. My partner had the chicken and Waffles and was delighted it came with Mrs. Butterworth syrup. I had the meatloaf, mashed potatoes and coleslaw. Portions were good sized. He loved his dinner and mine was fine. We will definitely go back. As an added touch, a gentleman was softly playing an electric guitar doing mostly folk of the 60's and 70's. Very nicely done.

A local staple for decades, Gram’s is a solid choice for breakfast. I can remember going by on the main drag through Orange City thousands of times and glancing to see if it was National Hot Dog Day or National Thank Your Mailman Day or National (fill in the blank) Day. I didn’t notice if this is still their practice, but silly fun and always memorable. We received a friendly “take a seat wherever you like”. Decent food and service (although I asked for a glass of water twice and never received it). It has a small town vibe that is especially apparent with vintage wall art and advertisements under the glass table tops of local businesses. As a Realtor, I always get a laugh (yes, sometimes even at myself) when I see 20+ year old pictures of real estate agents that haven’t aged a day since the 80’s and 90’s. I always enjoy a solid breakfast at Gram’s when I get the opportunity to catch up with business acquaintances in West Volusia County!

Just passing through orange city and decided to stop at Gram's Kitchen. We tried the croissant french toast, home fries with gravy, eggs, meatloaf, mashed potatoes and cherry pie. Everything was delicious but the home fries with gravy were our fave! There was a nice gentleman playing really lovely music on a guitar. It made the experience so nice!!! We will definitely stop in again when we're in the area!

This is my experience and my opinion only. The food was disappointing. The pictures online looks better then the actual food provided. The corn beef hashed was not cooked thoroughly. The chicken and waffle was disappointing Af. The French toast was soggy with no syrup on it. The eggs were horrible, it tasted like fake eggs and no cheese as order (not that it would or could've made it better). 😒 I was truly disappointed in this mom and pop experience. Will never eat there again.

In the first week of June 2021, I had a stroke, lucky I survived without being paralyzed. Now that I have extra time living, I decided to visit Gram's Kitchen, which was already part of my overall plans, especially on Friday's with my urge of eating their prime rib. Thank you to Gram's Kitchen for a delicious prime rib. I had a choice of 8, 12 or 16oz with two sides. I picked mashed potatoes and gravy and cole slaw, also delicious. Parking was limited, but got a slot. The outside and inside were clean, upon entering we were greeted by a group. A gentleman was playing music with his guitar. Very pleasant. The restaurant was half full and we still had our order delivered promptly. The tables and walls had an enormous amount of what I consider really nice art, promoting businesses from the area that was actually painted or some sort of technique done with many details.
