Giovanni's Restaurant & Lounge

Been to Giovanni’s twice in the last month with the family, what a fabulous place to eat at! I absolutely love the food. Last night, I had the most incredible special, Burrata stuffed raviolis in a creamy Parmesan mushroom sauce with shaved truffles, just WOW. It was quite the portion but I couldn’t help but eat every single bite. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share which were great too (calamari, grilled octopus, zucchini fritters, beet salad). The service was incredible as well. Likely just a one off incident - There was a very obnoxious table that ruined the atmosphere and I could tell that we weren’t the only guests annoyed. We mentioned it to the server and the owner who had passed by the table and there was no action taken. When you’re at Giovanni’s you’re spending lots of money on a good meal and some wine (minimum 100$ a person) so you’d want to be able to enjoy your guest and hear your own conversations.

The food was amazing here! I especially loved the sausage appetizer. It had my taste buds tingling so much so I couldn't enjoy my main course as much. However, the reason I can't give the restaurant 5 stars is be because of the noise levels. The restaurant was crowded so talking to our table was a struggle.

Wonder experience for my girlfriends birthday. Impeccable service from start to finish. Complimentary valet, coat check, seated promptly. Classy establishment with nice ambiance. The food was incredible. What a wonderful way to celebrate my girlfriends birthday. It made her so happy. The hostess asked if we were celebrating anything and I said yes it's her birthday. Then without any request they added a sparkler to her dessert. Very special gesture that I greatly appreciated. The food was incredible. I had stuffed veal in a cognac peppercorn cream sauce. My goodness it was fantastic. My girlfriend had the gnocchi. Unbelievably fresh. Melted in your mouth. Dessert was awesome. Giovanni's is absolutely a must try for any special occasion or just a wonderful date night. Can't wait to go back!

The food was really well made. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the Chilean Sea Bass for the catch of the day was cooked to perfection. We ordered the grilled octopus as appetizer and it was worth going back for. Personal preference would be to have a bit more seasoning. One complaint is that we did not receive great service from a secondary waiter. Our primary waiter, Jared was great to us, it was someone else that was less than professional. If one has the money for a decent meal, it is a staple in Little Italy.

Flavorless lasagna, cannelloni and calamari fritti👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 No garlic, parsley, carrots in the lasagna- very small amount of meat with dull tasting tomatoes👎🏻 The cannelloni was full of flavorless meat and a blah sauce👎🏻 The calamari fritti was flavorless and chewy, while served with cocktail sauce, should be a tasty tomato basil and garlic sauce👎🏻 After growing up in Naples, I read the reviews and looked at the menu online with high hopes. Note to the chef, Italian food has personality and texture and does not taste like common cafeteria food👎🏻 The dining area is gorgeous and service impeccable👍🏻👍🏻

Number 1 in Ottawa. Number 1 Italian restaurant. Best choice for a first date. Been there over 20 times, and never ever disappointed (and I'm very difficult to please) Mind blowing dishes, made professionally that will guarantee a big smile on your face ... Won't forget to thank Fernando for the Fabulous service ( wish that I could've taken better pictures today )

What a great experience. Was able to get a seat on the patio. They had a DJ playing great music. Excellent service. Got to try a carbonara pasta. Have seen this dish on several cooking shows ,so wanted to try it. I really enjoyed it. I will definitely go back to this restaurant when I come back to Ottawa
