Really enjoyed the Papusas. I recommend the bean and cheese. The tamal and plantains were decent but a little too oily for my liking. The people running the restaurant are friendly but, the overall service could use some improvement.

Amazing authentic food. Very traditional and typical. Wonderful flavors. This is a must eat!

We would have liked to try the papuas but after 10 minutes of waiting. We are told they were not avaliable. Sadly our order was not correct and what we did get was oily and not good for take out.The food does not seem to be made on-site. That being said these local restaurants are just trying to bounce back from covid, so maybe when things get back in this swing of things will try it again. It's very convenient to have the grocery store next door for Latin food items.

I have been going to le cabana for a very long time and have always been satisfied with the customer service experience however lately I have been dining with take out, I have noticed a drastic change in portion size each meal I get. This time, I ordered a plate for $15 and received it in what you would get as a left over container in most restaurants or another example a poutine container. I am left very disappointed by the cabana and hope they really get back to how they were doing business because it is not worth it for the moment. Thank you 👍

So let this review be proclaimed, as the one true above all. The unholy sacrilege that is the sad unfortunate excuse for what is a pupusa, is what you have here. Ive tried a many in my life and its exetremley diffcult to make one poorly, even for a novice. Unless that is... if you take no care nor the passion for making this delicacy. But enough with my self righteous proclamations on my pedestaled dish.
Just by matter of facts now, yes?
Atmosphere: has quite literally not changed in over a decade, legitimately. It has no air of authenticity, it has the products but not the soul. The service was.. lack luster would be a compliment. These poor children wouldnt know hospitality and customer service if it was being served to them. The server was nice in generic sense but there was no semblance of good service. I mean no regards to being personable, slow. Theres no flow no customer consideration no sign whether to be seated or not and no one at the ready to welcome you. We waited so long for a bill and it turns you have to go up to the counter, mala mia for not asking while waiting but we couldve walked out. She had cleared our table but nothing. To begin food wise it took too long i get how theyre cooked and the process but it... was so disappointing.
Now for the figurative meat and potatoes folks.
Which i prefaced above. Down to facts though it was terrible food the pupsas were not pupusad they were ...bad. It was disgustingly oily I felt ill for the remainder of the evening. My stomach was upset. The food was tasteless, plain and simply lacking the soul of this remarkable and tradtional dish. the traditional sides were completeley wrong, i mean Regional differences are a welcomed innovation in cuisine but wrong is wrong. The tomato sauce was just glorified garbage ketchup and the pickled cabage the that serves as the perfect paring was done improperly no more needs to be said.
It was just comprably bad to the original masterpiece. It was bad period. There was no care or regard for the tradtion and heritage that is a cornerstone in the salvadorean cuisine. It sullied the good name and disappoints. Those who say otherwise simply are unaware of where the true magic of this dish resides.
This is without malice, or disdain. Just simple factual observation and analysis.

Food is okay... i ordered pupusa, it was more doughy ... less filing.. really stingy for the cabagge they had to take away from the table. Thank you for convincing me to switch to La Villa Latina for the spanish food

We've tried multiple dishes in many occasions and they are all delicious! We're so glad to have this restaurant as a true gem of authentic food from El Salvador! Just make sure to not be in a hurry as the food does take time.

Cabana cafe is okay, clearly a small family run business that is directly associated with the neighbouring store. I had a steak and it was just okay. I highly recommend the papusas which are authentic and frankly spot on, they come with a giant jar of coleslaw and hot sauce, very yummy. Keep in mind that this is an El Salvadoran restaurant.
