Teas are 10/10 amazing quality and taste. We asked the staff for recommendation and the person helping us was a new hire. She suggested one that we took (and love). We also wanted to try the gunpowder and asked her what kind of tea/why is it named that etc and she couldn't answer so she asked the owner it seems. The owner ignored us and did not answer. We ended up just googling it and purchasing what we liked.

Absolutely beautiful shop! So bright and happy and welcoming! Their products are top notch and delicious! More varieties than any other store I have ever seen! All the handmade details make it really feel homey and happy. There is also handmade local items as well! The owner is very kind and very knowledgeable and very helpful! I highly recommend this store to anybody who likes drinking tea! They have great gift items as well for the tea lover in your life!

Teastore is a very warm and cozy little shop hidden deep in the Byward Market. The staff are nice and can answer even the most obscure tea related questions. The food available is good, the tea is better, and the atmosphere of the shop just makes you want to curl up and stay there for hours. It's my go-to café, especially on busy/stressfull days. It's one of the market's hidden gems, and I'm so glad I found it

I plan a trip to the market just to visit Teastore! I have been a customer since I first moved to Ottawa over 10 years ago.
The prices are better than other loose leaf tea stores and the flavours are WAY better.
My favourite part is the advice. If you want to try something new I suggest you ask for a suggestion. My favourite of their blends so far is Lady Grey.
