Palki Cuisine Of India

Visited Ottawa with my friend to attend the Tulip Festival. Went for dinner at Palki (restaurant) and they were just setting up and getting things ready for the evening/dinner so it took some time for the order to come. I am vegetarian and ordered some veg. curries from the menu but they didn't have the few vegetables at the time so chief couldn't make the curry but they suggested me some other curry which had eggplant in it so I told them no to put it in the curry. Took the suggestion and ended up getting the best veg. curries ever with lots of quantities. That meal lasted for two days. All the curries tasted so good and loved every bit of it. The staff was very nice and friendly. Had a great food and experience.

Good, affordable food. Unrushed service. Lovely, large, well-decorated, quiet space during the day. Excellent for large groups. Seems to cater receptions often... and on at least one of my attempted visits they did not open because they were still cleaning from the night before. Still, worth it to visit. Just call before coming.

We drove by a sign outside Palki Cuisine of India last night that said they now have butter chicken poutine. Hubby had indulged in a few beers and was very upset that they weren't open to serve him this poutine at midnight 😆. I told him we could order them today and followed through on my promise. SO GOOD! The portions were huge and the owner was very friendly. We will be back for sure, I can't wait to try more items from their menu!!!!

Buffet not good. The nan bread was dry, hard and greacy and has one rice and one pasta salad and a veggie salad in their buffet plus the tandoori chicken was really dry and the service was not good. I do not know about everyone else but, when I go out to eat with my family at a buffet one looks for selections to choose from, quality, presentation and service and feel welcomed, that is what I would pay for......I am not going back with my family to this location and would not recommend this establishment. You want excellent food, friendliness and a wide variety to eat from Tucker's is the place.

I give them 3.5 stars. The good: food was really delicious, prices are excellent, and the one staff member working the floor when my husband and I ate there was really friendly. The bad: service is WAY TOO SLOW!!! We went on a slow night, only a couple other tables had patrons, so I didn't think the service should be this slow. We went on a Tuesday night for the buffet (website states that dinner buffet is on Mondays and Tuesdays), but when we arrived we learned that the buffet had been canceled for that evening. We don't really blame them because it was really slow. So I would advise calling ahead if planning for buffet.
