Hen House

I love Hen House. This one is okay, they often have a lot of things out of stock versus the other locations so I’m not sure what’s up with that. My reason for giving three stars is because of the poor customer service from the people over at the food counter (where the chicken, fish and side dishes are) I asked for a specific kind of chicken, was given the opposite and the lady walked away without saying a word…once I noticed I quickly came back and politely let someone know that I needed to swap. I was assisted by another older woman who was slightly nicer at first. She got what I asked for, tossed the container on the counter and walked away. I understand customer service can be draining but rudeness is not okay.

The employees are rude. I asked for help finding something and the employees acted like it was a huge inconvenience. I was very polite and smiled at them, but they were very hostile and impatient. At another location the produce guy kept watching me shop. When I looked back at him he had an attitude. If your employees don't understand respect and can't handle a job with the public, retrain them or fire them. People are WAY too accommodating to rudeness lately it seems.

Came in on a sunday evening for a quick bite to eat. I got a small mac n cheese and a small cup of tomato soup. Small mac n cheese was $1.69 which is fine but the small cup of soup was $4. Total with tax $6.15! No spoons at the cafe for soup and no crackers either. No one to check out at the cafe front! Went to the store front to check out. The cashier checking out the person in front of me told me he is closed. So I waited in another line to get my now cold soup checked out. Some great examples of great service!and the photos were removed after my review!

I'm giving 1-star for the delivery option. My rant is that I went to the hen house website, and ordered for home delivery due to these viral times. Now I'm mostly happy with the order but the strawberries delivered to us are so moldy they look like a science experiment. Now that in and of itself isn't so bad. Stuff happens, I get it. My problem is that when I called the store expecting them to credit my account, or allow me to pickup a replacement the next day that's not what was offered. Instead the person I spoke with gave me the run around and blamed instant cart for the problem now I'm on a 3 hour hold hoping they will eventually pick up the phone. I would agree that instant cart would be the people to call/blame if I hired them to run a Hen House errand for me. That's not what I did. I used instant cart because the partner service recommended by Hen House. Hen House should a) not have merchandise this spoiled out for sale, and b) take more responsibility for the problem, not passing the buck.

Great customer service from Darian in the floral department today. Had some flowers that wilted after a day and she replaces with a beautiful new arrangement that was actually prettier than the one I originally purchased. Hen house has the best flowers in town and best customer service too. Thanks Darian!
