Maui Express

Steak and Chicken teriyaki bowls were good overall. Had with noodles, but would probably favor rice next time. Would also probably favor the hot over mild teriyaki sauce. The Yogurt bowl was delicious as is the Maui iced tea drink, flavored with pineapple juice. The miso soup and side salad complement the bowls very well. Overall a positive experience. Owner was very friendly and accommodating.

Don’t know about service or atmosphere as I called in and got takeout. I had gone to a different location of this food place they seem similar. I got one of there wraps as I need something quick, good, and different. Not just a normal sandwich they covered all of that. With a tasty little messy burrito as the sauce was great! Defiantly go again to try another new sandwich.

Wanted to try Maui for quite a while, and finally found some time to venture out their during lunch. I went during an off-peak time hoping that it wouldn't be busy--It wasn't, but service was a bit slow anyways. Through some online recommendations I chose the Combo #2 with a Teriyaki Chicken Bowl and a Maui Roll. Both were good, but didn't give me the "WOW!" factor I was looking for. Everything tasted fresh, but a bit underwhelming. I'd like to try it again in the future, but it's not one of my top priorities

Food was good, didn't take too long to prepare for takeout. Wish there was more for the money. Salad was small but good. For a Hawaiian food place, the menu is heavy on the Chinese styled food with very few choices. They also don't have any fruity drinks or deserts, just a yogurt cup with pineapple chunks on top. The food is great! Filling, yet light. I had a Chicken Teriyaki bowl and the chicken and rice were cooked perfectly.

Delicious! My friend and I stopped here while visiting Kansas City and we needed a quick and healthy lunch place to stop. We picked the right place! She got a shrimp bowl and I got a chicken/steak combo bowl. They were both amazing! We got brown rice, and it was cooked perfectly! The veggies were nice and tender but still a little crisp, and all of the meat was perfect, tender, and juicy. The spicy sauce had a nice kick without setting your mouth on fire. I got a Maui tea to drink, and I highly recommend it if you like pineapple! The service was fast and friendly, and I will be visiting again next time I'm in the area.

We had a hard time finding the place. They had two locations and one is shut down. Once we found it the staff was very helpful and friendly. Dinning room was very clean. We ordered our food and was excited to try it. Unfortunately we felt a little let down. Portion size was fine, but The flavors seemed a little off from what we have had before. The chicken was lacking of any flavor and definitely didn’t taste grilled. Tasted more like the prepared “Sysco” heat and go truck food than traditional in house grilled chicken. We had high hopes for this little restaurant, but we will probably not be returning to try again.
