Leo’s Coney Island

I have a tradition the last few months of going to Leo’s in Oxford in between farms where I work on sundays. I get the same order every time, coffee, half order of pancakes and sausage links. It took almost 45 minutes to get this order, never got checked on during this time or gotten more coffee. Once I did receive my food, the waitress apologized for the cook for making the pancakes so small (they were half the size as usual) which happens, it is what it is. But then the sausages and pancakes were both cold by the time I got them and the sausages were barely even cooked. (The pancakes still warm enough to enjoy.) The waitress stayed very polite as all the waitresses here always are which is why I have enjoyed coming here and had me go talk to the manager at the register to get the meat taken off the bill where I received a attitude. I understand being busy have having one of those days, but you can’t punish the customer for receiving bad service even though I stayed patient, calm and did not complain one bit. I guess it’s time to find a new place in Oxford for Sunday lunch. It was nice while it lasted.

Food is always bland. The staff is always lost and confused. They always seem like they don’t know what is going on. It’s super confusing from a customers standpoint. Definitely not worth the price, when other diners in Oxford charge the same for great quality food. Go to 5-1 Diner instead. They have great staff and amazing food.

Not enough servers to work. So rather than closing a section, the servers are just overwhelmed thus providing slow and inadequate service. Incredibly long wait for lunch (took 15 to get service) and no one working the register so unhappy people waiting to pay. I understand staffing issues, but if that’s the case, plan accordingly. Close a section, or seat customers rather than a seat yourself free for all

Prices were good but food was mediocre to poor. I had a kosher hotdog which was burned, tough, and dry, small, and more like beef jerkey than a hot dog. Perhaps this is how a kosher hot dog tastes. The rice pudding had a good flavor but there were instant rice kernels mixed in which were hard and crunchy. We were ready to eat and the cleaning staff was cleaning the floor near us with lysol water and it was quite unappetizing. Our server was pleasant and attentive. We probably won't return.
