Palo Alto Breakfast House

Nice place, gorgeous food! I don't give five stars because: 1. We were half way through our breakfast when the waitress brought the check :( It means it's time to leave without using words, isn't it?! 2. My teenage nephew and I think that the our waitress should have been dressed up more nicely, and actually we didn't see any smile on her face. She was in such a hurray all the time, even hardly eye contacted us :/ 3. I expect fresh made juice from a breakfast place, don't you?!

Food: 5 Their protein-based breakfast options are definitely the best in the area. I highly recommend the chorizo scramble or the omelette with avocado and bacon. Their waffles also look really good, although I mostly go protein-heavy with my breakfasts. Make sure that someone at your table gets the perfectly crispy hash browns. I always get hash browns and English muffin toast, which comes with butter already melted on it. I've also had good lunch entrees, including humongous salads and fresh burgers with crispy fries. Service: 5 I'm biased, because I'm a regular here. The older Asian guy with glasses is absolutely adorable and endearing. The other main server, a younger woman with dark brown hair, is the exact sort of person you'd want at a diner, calling you things like "sweetie" and "honey." They're both fast and on point.

The server made a mistake seating me too early even though it was still 10 minutes before the time that I told them that my friends would arrive, and a few minutes later another worker reprimanded me for hogging a table when my friends weren't even here yet and threatened to kick me out. I told him that I don't work here. Don't talk to me, talk to the person who told me to sit here. My friends arrived just when I said they would, yet no one took our orders until 10 minutes after we had made our choices. I ordered an omelets with no cheese and the omelet I received was loaded with cheese. When I told the guy who reprimanded me, he snatch my food away. He said something to the kitchen then talked to some other employee and then they both simultaneously turned and glared at me. Um...ok. Awkward. I got the omelet 10 min later and it was fine. One last thing, I asked for coffee for myself and water for my 3 year old daughter. The water came in a tall plastic cup with ice. Later someone took that water and exchanged it with a lidded cup with a straw sticking up. I didn't order any other drinks so handed her back the cup and I said, I don't think that's mine. She forcibly put the cup back in from of my daughter. Confused, I took the lid off the cup to see what was inside and the server said in an annoyed tone, "That's just water. You can't have the other cup because it might spill over." Just weird. I have no reason to go back to that place.

Someone said it was like eating in a hangar, and the sensation feels right. High ceilings and tables set like an school. Italian frittata with hahsbrowns was OK. I took one star because they only had one bathroom with sticky floors. They do not have fresh orange juice but at least were open about it.
