Harold's Chicken Shack #41

This place is amazing! Right up there with Nashville legendary bird spots, friendly staff, fantastic menu, great variety of birds, beasts, and four footed things, gives that movie vibe from basic atmosphere to the presentation of dishes like good ole southern cookin. Us there weren't even that hungry but dropped in and quickly were amazed with the value and flavors. The hot sauce! It's the real stuff! My pizza puff, slaw, and mac n cheese bites blew us away. There's so much to enjoy here we will definitely be back.

First time visit, we spotted it while driving by. Best to call ahead and order, there was a wait, but man oh man was it worth the weight a hundred times over. Hands down, without a doubt, the BEST chicken & fish I've had in Illinois. The gals were so friendly, all smiles and adorable, but listen.... Y'all aint gonna be able to go back to Popeyes or KFC after this chicken. Seriously. Amazing. Food.

NEW Location: Main & Just South of Sheridan. Can’t miss the large window pane A-frame walls. Easy parking next to the windows. Fresh, as in fried after you order, as opposed to fried chicken sitting under warming lights for hours, Harolds Fried Chicken takes the sting out of any Bad News Day. Equally delicious try Fried Mushrooms, seasoned crisp batter outside with moist mushroom inside. BEST as in BEST in Central Illinois.
