Trackside Bakery

I have always loved this place and looked forward to buying lunch on Fridays. I usually purchase lunch in the morning. This morning the shelves had less than half of what is usually there. I asked about croissants and she said she could make me one. I asked for ham cheese and tomato. 2 slices of tomato, one square of cheese torn in half and no ham for $6.20. Half the croissant has no filling. If you want to keep customers you need to do better. Possibly new owners?

Slow service, staff need to learn how to prioritise and stop fiddle farting around while people are waiting. I’ve literally seen 3 people making one coffee order while a queue of people wait to be served. Many of us are on our way to work and are grabbing breakfast or lunch on the run, unless there’s no one else waiting to be served I just don’t bother going there anymore. The other day I stood there for quite some time waiting to be served, I was the only customer but 2 staff members couldn’t be bothered serving me. The food isn’t bad but the staff need to pull their heads in and better training needed.

Aaron (guy with greasy mullet) made the best damn mocha I've ever had in my life. That man deserves a raise. I've had mochas from Trackside before and they're usually alright, but THIS???!!! That mocha seriously changed my life for the better, I am reevaluating every single hot beverage I've ever consumed up to this point. Aaron, please stay at Trackside, or become my personal barista. Thank you.

There is not many eateries around the Perth Station, Trackside Bakery is kinda the better option. That said, the food here is delicious, reasonably priced. This is a good place to catch a quick bite before you catch your train. Downside: not many seats available. We were here for a quick bite in September 2017.

TRACKSIDE BAKERY is renowned for it's large range of Delicious Cakes and Savoury Snacks baked on the premises... Situated just above the Perth Train Station, you can't walk past without smelling the awesome aroma's coming from the bakery and stopping to check out their great display of cakes, sandwiches and hot food selections... The prices are extremely reasonable and the service is always of a high standard... Be sure to stop by next time you have a train to catch or as you are passing through on your way to Perth... You won't be disappointed... YUM...!!

The "fast food" like restaurant is situated in the midst of the Perth central station, which makes the prices more than average in return for convenience, however, the prices are more than ridiculous. More than that the prices aren't even correct on the displayed blackboard. The name of this establishment is 'Trackside Bakery' but offers less than a Gas Station for hot/fresh food. Arguably the prices are equivalent to a gourmet bakery but the quality is much less than. The selection of food range from beef sausages, hotdogs, and crossaints to delicacies such as hedgehog slices, popcorn, and muffins. Upon my visit to the bakery, many people order and then are in awe of the prices. One gentlemen told the waitress to "not worry about it" as the prices were too high for what you are receiving. There are various humorous quotes hanging around the restaurant to read while you stop to eat. And there are a few awards waiting to catch your eye as well. The layout of the restaurant makes you feel on top of each other. Altogether there are twenty seating options, all of which are an arm's length to each other. Due to being busy all the time (especially during rush hour), I imagine cleaning would be quite hard to do. Not only that, due to being smack-bang center of all the commotion, as you can imagine, it's very noisy and unsettling. There isn't an isolated spot of this Café, you either choose to eat on-the-go or you can choose to sit amongst every other customer (if you get a seat that is). There isn't much of a menu for vegetarians or anything (with the exception of water) for vegans. I ordered an iced mocha ($6.5) and a deep-fried corn roll ($3.8) The grand total was $10.30. The iced mocha definetly had ice in it, that basically was all it was. Ice and watered down milk with a scoop of ice-cream on top. The corn roll was over cooked and I'm not entirely sure how long it was sitting in the heated display. Finally, the customer service was close to appalling. There were six staff members on site. One in the kitchen, and five others less than patiently waiting for customers. There was one male staff member who appeared to be the manager, and he had tried to crack a few dad jokes as the atmosphere was quite dull. Other than the kitchen-hand and the manager. The rest of the staff were quite obnoxious. I had gone up to the cash register twice and had the 'pleasure' of being greeted by two different waitresses. The first barrista was very very impatient, somehow all the staff had disappeared into the kitchen and she yelled out 'service' with a poor tone in her voice. When the iced drink had made it to me she slid it down the bench and turned her back, I then asked her for the straws and she announced that they were at the front. I went to the counter a second time and was treated the same, when reaching for my wallet to get change for the roll waitress #2 had rolled her eyes. Less than a slightly enjoyable experience. A left feeling a little sick but at least I wasn't hungry.
